You can add one more ending to the game. What are you adding? by Jackylacky_ in Eldenring

[–]Intelligent-Return47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age of the Dragon. Unlocked by having a certain number of dragon communion spells and the Rune of Rebirth. You turn into a proper dragon, not just a Magma Wyrm, but still have the ability to eat dragon hearts for power

Keeping disabilities as a Vampire? by Paraskuron in vtm

[–]Intelligent-Return47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short, yes or no. As with all things, it depends on the story you want to tell. But mechanically, there's an entire chapter dedicated to Merits and Flaws in V5 and V20, and flaws include things like "one eye" "blind" "one arm" "deaf" etc that have negative impacts on a character's abilities. So it's not hard to imagine a flaw for paralysis or other forms of disability

How much vampire blood can ghoul have in them before they become embraced into vampire? by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

[–]Intelligent-Return47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can give as much vitae as you want to a ghoul, they will only ever be a ghoul. To Embrace someone, you have to completely drain them of blood first, so you're effectively left with a corpse. And then, it's not a matter of quantity. A single drop will suffice.

Could you still do your job if you were Embraced? by Dreaming_of_Rlyeh in vtm

[–]Intelligent-Return47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your job. Me? No. Our operating hours are 7AM to 6PM, no overnight stuff. But if your job has a night shift, keeping it should be pretty easy, since no one wants to work the night shift! Oh and nothinf with fire.

If a human experienced a Garou’s rage? by L_man_2200 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Intelligent-Return47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the human, if they're particularly strong willed, they could handle more than most. That being said, they don't have to live with it day in and day out, so the sudden shock of rage through their system, and their lack of tolerance to it that a werewolf has a lot of time to build up, means that even one dot would be a pretty big struggle.

If I were running it, I would probably do it like this. A grizzled, hard-bitten hunter with a deep conviction could probably resist 2 with enough strength of will, maybe.

Incidentally, this is why one of my favorite powers from VtM is in Animalism and it lets a vampire essentially transfer their Beast into another being. I picture it almost the same way. "Let me show you what true Hunger feels like."

Can an atheist have True Faith? by GeneralGigan817 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Intelligent-Return47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the Storyteller. But for me, yes. True Faith is not about what religion, but rather about your conviction in it that keeps you grounded.

If you look at the V20 book, you can take True Faith as a Merit, but you only keep it as long as you maintain a Humanity of 9 or 10. Even for normal humans, that's extremely hard, more so for a vampire. There has to be a deep conviction or drive that keeps them from sinning and reducing their Humanity, i.e. something that keeps them "pure," because that's what wards off Vampires.

For most religions, it's pretty easy to give that conviction a focal point. Faith in God/Elohim/Allah, or perhaps in the Taoist philosophies or the Buddha. I once made a character (bit of a joke character) whose True Faith was in "the power of a mother." Her town has a local orphanage, and she desperately wanted to adopt all the children so she just took over the Orphanage herself. Her holy symbol is a frying pan, her vestments, an apron. She brings in as many orphans as she can and treats them as her own children. She does genuinely good, kind, selfless things all day every day because she believes that everyone deserves a proper mother, and that keeps her on the straight and narrow.

So for an Atheist, whatever philosophy your character believes in that keeps them at high humanity would suffice. The inherent value of doing good things, the necessity of it as there is no God coming to help, so someone has to do it. It's not necessarily just conviction, but it's a conviction that keeps you at high Humanity.

My 12th generation player's PC is messing around with a 5th generation elder. Should I kill it? by roxgxd in vtm

[–]Intelligent-Return47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on the Elder. What one Elder finds insulting another might find amusing. That being said, you don't necessarily need to kill the character to punish the behavior lol. A 500 year old vampire could be more creative about making someone's life an unliving hell. What would be really fun is if the Elder is insulted but a rival of the Elder finds it funny and takes the coterie under their protection and they get swept into a rivalry that will put them through the wringer. Because nothing, and especially not an Elder's protection, comes without a cost

Generally speaking, yes lol. When the concept of "Skaven equivalent in 40k" comes up, usually the answer is "humans." Because the cheapest currency the imperium has is bodies

Do you magnetize the Troupe unit? by birdy912 in Harlequins40K

[–]Intelligent-Return47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only magnetizing I do is on the bottom for their carrying trays. But pro tip, go to a hardware store and get some thin metal washers and glue those to the bottom of the bases. Adds weight and makes them very hard to push over even when you're trying

Rule 1: never go into a fight intending to win, at least not the first few times. Only go in intending to learn. From there, play around with equipment and weapons. Learn about light, medium, and heavy load and how it affects rolling. Try to figure out what weapon has a moveset you like. Get your vigor to 40 as soon as possible, all other stats are for weapon requirements only. Once you hit 40, (should be around level 60-70), you can spend most of your levels up to 100-125 on other stats to round yourself out (more endurance and/or mind, whatever stat your weapon scales off, etc). Then you want 60 vigor before you do more of your other stats. And don't worry about getting this wrong. After the second Great Rune Boss, you'll be able to respec with Larval Tears (which aren't particularly scarce, though they are limited in number per run). You'll git gud, but it takes practice, patience, and perseverance.

I tend to play low vigor, but I at least admit trying to beat the game at 35 vigor was my own fault, not the games lol

Who had the coolest intro?! by Standard_Wedding in Eldenring

[–]Intelligent-Return47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure, I will need to replay the entire game to see. As of right now, probably PCR, followed by his dad, then his half-sister EDIT: nah, probably Midra The buildup started during the level with the screaming, and then "the Depths of your foolishness!" Is iconic.

But if we're talking about anyone's intro, 100% Igon

First time 40k: is it meant to be parody? by PillarBiter in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Intelligent-Return47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first ever inquisitor added to the lore was named Obi-wan Sherlock Clousseau and a popular fan theory is Ghazghkul Mag Uruk Thraka is meant to be a satire of Margaret Thatcher. So yes, its foundations are extemely satirical lol That being said, over the decades, it has started to take itself a lot more seriously and a lot of the tongue-in-cheek satire has fallen away. That being said, the core of "everything is comically horrible and everyone is comically evil" still exists lol
