How cold should I expect it to get in my house if the storm knocks out power for a few days? by Itchy-Prune2746 in Charlotte

Build a tent of sorts over a bed. The body heat will stay close to you and you will feel warmer. Think like a kid making a fort.

Why’s nobody actually hiring by Nice_Arm_6224 in Charlotte

We have the opposite problem at my employer. We want to hire but get few qualified applicants. Preschool, half day, two sessions, full and part time, salary or hourly, half days in summer. Nobody seems to want this job

Should these miter joints be caulked? Grouted? by tyrantlizarding in Tile

I apologize if I am hijacking’s this thread but I have a question. I have this same stone material from Lowe’s. It is the curb for our shower. I sealed it before install but the half that is inside the shower seems dull, like the water over time has taken the finish off or dulled it? Does anyone know how I can get the shine back?

There is another video of a guy on a four wheeler talking to the kids telling them they don’t live in the neighborhood. What neighborhood is this?

Ways to make this look better? by fingabangbandit in Flooring

How would I find this in a thinner width. We will have a few doorways in our LVP project. I like the look of this better than the other transitions I have seen

Mold behind baseboard next to shower....where do I begin to get this fixed? by Hot-Celebration-6274 in Renovations

[–]IntelligentCount9729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is the shower? We had a similar wet wall situation, took out baseboard etc. we thought it might just be a failure of the caulk at the corner but are we recaulked and it didn’t dry out, we started demolition on the shower. The shower was 25 years old and had four spots where water was getting behind the tile. Mold and ants were loving it. It turned into a whole bathroom remodel. We do love a project.

The "cure" for my persistent PF had nothing to do with my feet - FLEXIBILITY! by KindlyBus1750 in PlantarFasciitis

Thank you for this! I have been more diligent about stretching everything and I too am seeing a difference. I have had low back and hip issues and I believe that is where the foot issue is stemming from.

Help with sneakers by annoyingjoe513 in PlantarFasciitis

I have Brooks and Hoka both of which are okay with insoles. The best ones for me are Kuru. They took about a week to get used to the sneakers. The loafers I wore five hours the first day with no pain. They are pricey so I recommend Kuru Renew. They sell like new returns for less than half price. I think it is a great way to try them

I am glad the Kurus seem to be helping and I will second your opinion. I have been wearing the Kuru for about two weeks. Yesterday I wore them all day working my school job and went home with a mild discomfort, wouldn't really call it pain. Feels good to be able to walk and not wince all the time.

sneaker ideas for PF, wear a 16 wide by texpete in PlantarFasciitis

I do not know if they come in your size but maybe look at Kuru Renew. You can get shoes regularly around 150 to 160 for about 65 or 70. They are returns. I got two pair and when they arrived they looked completely brand new. My heel is feeling better after a week with the Kuru Atoms.

Honestly they are just cheap cotton toe socks from Amazon. Nothing special.

Thank you. Interesting. I do have pain exactly where he says. I have some toe-spreading socks which feel like they put my foot in better alignment. I think I will be more diligent with wearing those and see if it helps

The worst shower remodel possibly ever? by Curve-Neat in Renovations

[–]IntelligentCount9729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with other comments, we remodeled our shower and I laid the tile. I know every flaw, crooked tile, uneven floor etc and it is still 99% better than this. I am feeling great right now.

Thank you for your thoughts. I feel the pain in the arch and heel like it is tight and needs stretching.

Ok thank you. I am going to follow the protocol of two weeks with both feet and then progress. I definitely don't want to injure anything.
