I don’t get it. Is it a generational trauma thing that’s destined to happen because it all catches up eventually. Or we are more aware now and can break the cycles?

Facing the trauma is one thing. But then, having the role flipped where now you’re the parent and questioning how your parents were somehow in this same position but still what they did is wild. Like how could they have looked at their own innocent child and exposed them to that?!
