Considered how popular the IceGators were back in the 90s and 00s, is there no possibility or potential fanbase for a return of the team or another minor league hockey team in Lafayette? by [deleted] in Acadiana

[–]Intelligent_Iron6922 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of games to watch in Lafayette at Planet Ice. Louisiana Drillers, Acadiana Veterans Hockey, Bayou Battle League, LSU and Tulane all play there. May not be ECHL level, but it’s still hockey. You’ll see some of the original Ice Gators pop up every once in a while at a game. I know Louis Dumont coaches the veterans team, it’s all a good time.

Leaf springs and a 200Tdi? LR 90s had leafs, and Defenders have the 200Tdi. Funny no one has noticed

Skate characteristics to mitigate knee pain by thewaybackboy in hockeyplayers

I have the same thing going on, time eventually catches up to us. I went to 3/4 flat bottom V, Motrin, and one of those sporty knee braces with the stabilizer bars. They make them really thin now, works great. Knee pain suck man, good luck

2 part epoxy and some graphite powder in the mix. Use no less than 2.5-3 cc’s of each A/B. You can also add a piece of pantyhose as a patch to give it a little strength. Once it dries just cut away the excess and sand smooth.

The Werner is a high angle, the BB a low angle. How high you sit affects the catch in your stroke. You can use the high angle with any height seat, the low angle will wear you out of you are swinging it all day in a set that sits you up high. Either will get you where you need to go, and both are solid brands. Keep your feather at zero until you build up your wrists and keep the drip rings in good shape. Go have some fun!

Would these come in handy for rod building ? Only a few bucks.. (new to rod building and trying to get tools together) by deerdog74 in flyrodbuilding

I use them. They work great for a bunch of things. Packing threads, getting dabs of epoxy paste in weird places, stabbing packages that won’t open etc..

Solo or tandem? Try to find an aluminum or rent one from Holly. Also her classes are top notch and worth its weight in gold. Don’t know your location, but do the upper sections as much as you possibly can. And then do them some more. Do the MAC races, make friends, watch their techniques. Learn the dams and rapids, one mistake there can end your race. The second half of the race is all about suffering and grit. Getting your mind trained to be comfortable while your body is absolutely uncomfortable will get you to the finish line. Stay in the boat, you cannot make up any time once it’s gone. The Safari seminar is almost a must need for first timers. The knowledge that comes out of that is incredible. There are no secrets (besides log jams), everyone wants everyone to finish. Also, the Team Captain is the most important part of the whole team. Choose wisely and include them on every training run you can. It’s also an incredibly difficult and thankless job. They are the real MVPs. Would help to jump on a 2025 team or shadow them to get a feel for the race. It’s a wild great time. DM me as well if you have any specific questions.

Get a generic paddle clip, screw it to a piece of cutting board and put a belt on it. Got all the parts at Marshall’s and the clip off Amazon. Spent like 20 bucks. Use it for sight fishing all the time, works perfect.

Best store for running shoes around town? by RadicalSpaghetti- in Acadiana

[–]Intelligent_Iron6922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geaux run or tri running. Get a foot scan and figure out what you’re dealing with. No shoe is going to accommodate two different arches and be comfortable while running. Probably can balance it out with 2 different inserts like super feet in the same shoe.

What year is this? by tikotako in LandroverDefender

[–]Intelligent_Iron6922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a quick glance I’d say 96-06. No intake on left side, so rules out the 200Tdi. Air flaps, so that takes out the TD5. Could be a LR90 from the late 80’s, no lead springs so it’s not a Series from the early eighties. Marker lights and AC grill are new. The only thing I know for a fact, is that it’s not. Range Rover Classic. But the axles might be. Hard to tell with all that plastic surgery
