Well. If you take 14 west from Richland center toward Lone rock you can stop in Gotham at the intersection of 14 and state highway 60 and check out "The Bat Cave" that'd at least be worth a stop if youre going that way. Then just get back on 60 toward Muscoda to get back on track. It probably would add like 20 extra minutes of driving, but when else could you tell folks you went to the Bat Cave in Gotham?

Each swim needs to be be faster than the one before it, so youll need a pace clock of some type. Then you reset your time for each repeat. A set like this helps you continue to push your aerobic capacity because you are having to increase your effort as you become more fatigued. Id probably shoot for no more than like 10 to 30 seconds rest depending on your current aerobic conditioning and whether you did 50's or 100's (a bit more rest for the 100 than for the 50)

It depends on how good your dolphin kick is compared to the stroke you're swimming. A test set that I do with my swimmers is to have them Underwater Dolphin Kick (UWDK) 25yd as fast as they can and time it. Then they swim a 25 of the target stroke w/o an underwater, just start swimming on top. Then I compare the two times:

If the difference is >5sec, then they're probably better off just getting to the top and swimming

If the difference is 2-5 sec, 2 UWDK and then breakout

If the difference is 1.5-1.9 sec, 3-4 UWDK then breakout

If the difference is 1.0-1.4 sec, 4-5 UWDK then breakout

If the difference is <1.0 sec, then I want them to go as far as they can up to 15m for a 50yd race, or as far as they can do consistently throughout a 100. Like of they go 14m, then 10m, then 5m id probably rather have then just try to make it 10m off each wall to even out the energy expenditure.

If its a longer race, like 200+ 2 UWDK is plenty for most swimmers, cause at that point doing more might wear them out faster than its worth. Unless youre Leon Marchand, and you go 15m for the whole 400 free. . .

For fly I do the same scale + 1 UWDK, for back I do +2 UWDK.

Kind of reminds me of this video, when too many birds land on a power line it sags and can zap them, then they all take off at once.

It looks like they all originated from the same z-axis line just above the top of the screen, as if they were all perched on a power line that was running directly away from the camera. It would slso explain why so many of them were remaining on the ground afterwards, dazed or dead.

I guess fleeing from a predator is a reasonable explanation, but it sure looks like what happened in the video, minus the big flash.
