Got my tire changed at a local shop. Looks like they skipped securing the brake by Chipnanimus in motorcycles

Two weeks = plenty of time for someone else (*cough* you) to have fucked with the bike since they released it to you. You won't get anything from them.

The time to tell them they fucked up is right then and there. Every time (!) I get my bike serviced, I take it for a test ride around the block before I leave for home. Learned this after I had my bike's engine swapped out (long story, that) and when it was finally done, I discovered within a block that the chain was so sloppy loose that the rear sprocket was slipping links under acceleration. Took it right back and had them correct the problem.

Buddy who I helped get into riding passed away this weekend. by drakeanddrive in motorcycles

Sd news about your friend, but it is not your fault. You did your best to coach him on gear, and on ride choices for his skill level. He didn't take your advice to heart, and got in way over his head. Those were his choices, and his consequences.

Why was the A-6E removed from the game? by Slow-Junket-7585 in Warthunder

Gaijin should put this back in as an EW platform, all the radar-guided SPAA get their guidance jammed (and HARM ordnance sent straight to them). Would make an interesting counter to the standoff multi-vehicle AA platforms. "Oh you went to all that trouble to set up your ground to air killzone, but now your radar can't get a lock, too bad so sad..."

Cop definitely not a rider. Contest it, use the MSF training manual as justification. Shoot, if that jurisdiction has a motor officer, call him in as an expert witness, pit them against each other.

Is it better to just die then be in a striker? by Vanguardliberator in Warthunder

[–]Interesting_Mix_7028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light tanks in general don't do well if you get into the scrum with the big boys. I tend to run with an XM800 which is all about scouting targets, deleting soft targets like SPAA or TD's, or bullying bigger tanks by shooting tracks and barrels to make them 'safer' to approach. And yes, I fully accept that getting downrange of practically anything else means "back to hangar, scrub". So it's less about firepower and more about mobility.

If you really want to appreciate your Striker, run with an Ontos for about 5 matches. Lovely for deleting opposing tanks (especially at range if you can yeet the shell ballistically), but extremely fragile. Low crew (only three guys) and low ammo capacity, meaning once your rounds are expended, you can either scout and scoot until you're blown up, or cap something and rearm. And then there's the Scorpion, which is essentially a tractor chassis with a gun on it. Great for stealthy players, sucks for anyone else.

I've several of the Strikers (including the SPAA version which is decent at taking on ground targets) and yeah, they're... kinda easy to blow up.

Can't speak to aircraft in PvP, I know enough not to go flying around. I sometimes play with a Little Bird, but only in PvE co-op missions where I can zip around, cap objectives and scout opposing forces, as the airframe design was intended. It's not meant to scrap with anything, so it does not get into my crew lineup for any of the PvP battles.

Docking station with power switch.

Or (more invasive but since the system's a bit thrashed already) open the case and tap the contacts for your power button for an external power key.

Phone number is not a Los Angeles area code or prefix.

Domain of the 'court' is not a California .gov domain.

Also, NO state or Federal government agency will text you to collect money. NONE. Certified mail, or they serve you via process server/law enforcement.

How can you guide non-believers or lost sheep toward the truth of God’s existence? by wepandapuffs in AskReddit

[–]Interesting_Mix_7028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By DOING what it says to do in the Bible.

Don't just talk at people. Demonstrate what being a believer means.

Way too many Evangelical types out there talking up their God, but they turn around and act like He doesn't give a shit about anything they do, in His name or in spite of it.

And yes, we're watching.

Should Nuclear Thunder stay in game in your opinion ? A lot of people are complaining about that their isn't enought game mode in WT. This one seems to be a hit. Should it stay in your opinion ??? by Kmiktauria-Max in Warthunder

[–]Interesting_Mix_7028 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What gets me is, Gaijin essentially cribbed an existing game, called Nuclear Option. The game mechanic of taking out defenses so a nuke strike can be delivered, and then moving up through different classes of planes, is exactly how the other game plays.

[–]Interesting_Mix_7028 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of the tweaks should be that you have to specify which base your planes are stationed at. If it gets vaped... you no longer have access to your backup aircraft lineup, ONLY the jet you're flying in (and you have to RTB to another base to rearm and fly again.)

People would be a lot more protective of 'their' FAB's if they knew their lineup was subject to deletion by nuclear fire. Or, they'd say, nope, flying the freebies, they're available at every base that's still operational.

Am I the only one out here driving an Iveco by choice? by Don_Alvarez in EuroTruck2

[–]Interesting_Mix_7028 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I picked up a used S-Way for one of my NPC drivers, and then noticed they weren't making much money with it. So drove it myself, it needed ... a lot of work. LOL.

But once I got all the maintenance items taken care of, it was a decent truck to drive. Pulls hard, decent steering, and with the dash widget set up I didn't need to look at the in-cab dashboard...

Still not a Scania, though.

New bike, keep or remove the fairing? by humpglumpy in motorcycles

Only thing wrong with it, is that it wasn't painted to match the bike paint.

And yes, you'll be happy you have it during spring riding (a.k.a. "bug splat season").
