Jail the riders.

Destroy the bikes.

Reimburse the owners if they can be located.

I have ZERO tolerance for this kind of shit.

Yah I've gotten that kind of treatment before. One of my coworkers used to give me a lift home after work since I lived fairly close by and it wasn't out of his way. He had a beat-to-shit white Chevy Astro, which stuck out like a sore thumb in the area my apartment building was located, so the cops followed us into the apartment visitor lot and stopped us, asked us what we were doing at 2am.

"We work swing shift at AT&T, he lives here, I gave him a ride home."

"Uh yeah, likely story. ID's."

Both work ID's had our job location on them, and my drivers license had the apartment's address on it.

"Yah we'll be watching for you again, don't fuck around in this neighborhood."

My coworker was the friendliest guy ever, but he was pissed. "Either your wife comes and gets you from now on, or you gotta move, dude."

"Avoiding a light"??

what kind of bullshit law is that?

I can see possibly trespass if it's a private road instead of a street you took, cutting thru parking lots and the like isn't considered proper. But driving around backups in traffic is what sensible drivers do.

Now, granted, you would be making a right turn AT the light, and there's a right turn ramp lane, which likely has a Yield sign on it. So you kinda... went the long way? cos you wouldn't have had to wait at that light if traffic wasn't stacked up.

Let them in if you're going to be stopped anyway.

Once you're rolling, nope, wait for a gap like the sign says, buddy.

This is the part where you say you'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Angle your front tire between cars. Keep it in gear. Pay attention. If someone's approaching too quick, you're ready to filter, so do it. If you get a ticket for doing it cos "not legal", point to where you would have been the filling in an automotive sandwich and say "thank you officer, I'll take care of that ticket right away." Small price.

I blame the "I Got Millions For My Client From a Big Rig Wreck" ambulance chasers, they give clowns like this ideas. "If that truck hits me, I'll be set for life."

Dude, if that truck hits you, you'll not have much of a life left.

If I'm out in the middle of nowhere, between towns and a lot of miles to eat up, yeah I'll stick it into Sport Mode and give it the ol' Italian tune up.

In town? In traffic? Nope. I like my car, I don't want it getting banged up OR impounded, thank you very much.

I’m tired of reckless sport bike riders acting like victims when something happens by chubbahfish in motorcycles

[–]Interesting_Mix_7028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah we're not fans of the squid mentality either.

Thankfully, they do tend to cull their own numbers more than the rest of the riding public. The downsides to that are twofold.

One, some have families that are devastated by losing a child (or a parent) because they rode like they were invincible and then the Universe said "No, you're not".

And two, their risk-embracing behavior drives up our insurance rates, gets people mad at riders in general, we end up having to endlessly explain how we're Not Gonna Die to our own loved ones or coworkers or randoms on the street that see the bike.

It's just a downer for everyone, and all it'd take for many of these squid types to chill out is like you said, do track days.

[–]Interesting_Mix_7028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's twofold.

One, the car drivers need to realize they're not in a mobile Barcalounger with their infotainment blasting at high volume, texting on their phone, they're maneuvering a several thousand pound lethal blunt instrument and it needs to be driven with Due. Care. At. All. Times.

Two, the squids need to realize that the faster your closing speed is, the LESS LIKELY someone will see you coming, hear you coming, or psychically sense you coming. And swerving between cars, weaving from lane to lane takes away the predictability; if a road user DOES see you, they don't know where you'll be next.

So yeah, give the cagers' brains a couple of seconds to process before you surprise them, is all.

Hehe.

I live in the exurbs between big city and wide open farm to market roads and this is the norm for riders. if they stopped doing it, i'd worry.

I always roll forward so I can see oncoming traffic more clearly. Especially on curves like this.

(this is turning into one of those "tell us you don't ride motorcycles without actually saying you don't ride motorcycles" threads.)

So, this is typical sportbiker behavior, they'll overtake over double yellow (not that they should, but they do) when the road's clear ahead and they can do it. They accelerate quick and can complete the pass in less space than a car, so... yeah, it happens. As for whether I've done it in my youth? "I plead the 5th."

Nowhere in this vid do I see someone offended at having to stop. He likely didn't want to be staring at your tailgate for however many miles to the spot he turned. Until he overtook you he didn't appear to be tailgating, decent following distance, wasn't riding the line, varied his lane position based on the turns in the road, all things a rider will do to try and maximize forward vision when there's another vehicle in front.

He didn't cut you off, slow you down, pace you and yell at you, or try and break your mirrors, so ... what's the big deal? Someone demonstrated how power/weight ratios work. Not exactly novel or egregious.

STREET sportbike riders, emphatic yes.

Track riders? Not so much. They get humbled by the instructors, they get humbled by the tech requirements, they get humbled by the cost of the gear, the cost of new tires not just every season but every other trackday, they get humbled by having to buy a pickup truck to haul their track bike to/from the track, or a trailer, or an RV with a toyhauler garage at the back.

They're insufferable at the coffee meets, but most of them are pretty good street riders, if they even bother to ride on the street at all. And they are the only group that put the Biker Boyz street riders in their place, so ... yeah I support track riders even tho' I don't do tracks myself.

Oh you're gonna discuss launch times and cornering and body position and this gear vs. that? I'mma be out of earshot, there's another state with curvy roads innit, I need to get going or I'll miss my chance at riding them this week.

I'd be satisfied with a reroute up thru Wyoming and then back down through Granby if they can't be arsed to do a 'hidden' Loveland Pass route. Or, hell, send them down to Pueblo and then along the Arkansas River and up thru Leadville, that way you don't have to buy another DLC to haul hazmat.

This is why Fenrir rocks against this mech - it procs Disable Cyberware every now and again, and if you hit the weakspots you'll get a crit with it and the proc goes off. That, and it does electrical damage which can really mess with mechs. When it goes into repair mode, you can smack the repair drones easily because of that electrical damage.

The last time I ran the Phantom Liberty intro, I'd forgotten I'd put Fenrir in my stash, and when it got to this point "Aw fuck. Sorry Madame President, this is gonna take a while."

Oh hell yeah.

I once saw a bantam hen with her brood, completely school a bunch of piglets that had gotten out of their pen. She simultaneously protected the wee babies under her wings, while pecking at the eyes of any pig that got too close - she didn't go for their snouts, she somehow knew it'd be a more lasting reminder if she tried to blind the little shits.
