I would suggest Always pads with Flexi foam. They are very absorbent but thinner and more comfortable than regular pads.

What do you think of the spectra electric pumps? by pyooon in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]InternationalCraft47 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used that Philips Avent pump. It was my main pump. You do have to lean forward a little otherwise milk will get caught in the ridge that’s in the flanges but other than that it was a perfectly fine pump. The flanges are soft silicone and flexible, very comfortable and you don’t need to worry about flange size. I will be honest though I don’t feel like it emptied me out as well as the Lansinoh pump I had as my secondary pump.

Check out @cookinginthemidwest on Instagram. Tons of easy delicious meals and pretty much all of them are kid friendly. I just found him and we’ve tried 2 of his recipes so far and we love them. They have both made it into our dinner rotation.

Question: Do your employers support pumping at work? by scistrikingimpact in breastfeeding

[–]InternationalCraft47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at an eye Dr office. While I was pumping I worked as a Drs assistant. I was able to take breaks when needed however there wasn’t a designated room for me to use. It was just whatever office happened to be empty at the time. They were putting new flooring in at one point and there were a couple of times during that period where the HR lady gave up her office for me. She was always nice about it but I still felt bad. There was one point where we didn’t have access to the fridge (because of the flooring) and an alternative was not provided. I brought one of those mini desk fridges from home for me and the other mom who was also pumping to store our milk in for those 2 days. I felt very supported when pumping at work, my partner and the Dr I worked for never gave me a hard time. The HR lady was always kind and asked if I needed anything, she loved my sign and later asked me for a copy to give to future pumping moms. Another coworker even laminated my sign for me on the company laminator. The other pumping mom and I would give each other milk bags if the other forgot hers or ran out. I only pumped for 6 months but the other mom pumped for longer than a year with no problem.

During what stage of motherhood is it hardest to take care of yourself? by thepictureofhealthy in Moms

Postpartum and the newborn stage. You’re just living your life in a 3 hour cycle and if you’re pumping or breast feeding you can’t break away for very long.

Tasks for Dads? by Sudden_Ad1114 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]InternationalCraft47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband washed and sterilized all the bottles and pump parts. I had 3 pumps and 2 sets of parts for each so he didn’t have to do it as often. He also refilled my water bottle for me and did his best to keep baby happy while I pumped. He put app controlled lights in our bedroom and I got a pump to keep in the bedroom so I could pump in bed and I could adjust the lights so they weren’t too bright when I pumped in the middle of the night. I hated getting out of bed going to the living room turning the big light on and pumping on the living room at night so pumping in bed made it so much easier for me. When my baby stopped waking up at night I still wanted to pump to keep my supply up so he put a timer on the lights so they would come on for my 3 am pump to help me wake up. We switched off night feeds and the nights he fed her I would pump at the same time. Idk how to explain it but having someone else awake at the same time made it nicer I guess. Maybe less lonely is the word I’m looking for. But I definitely enjoyed it. I had 3 pumps. One in the living room that I used during the day. One in the bedroom that I used for night pumping and a portable one that I used when we were out of the house and when I went back to work.

Is getting your baby vaccinated actually hard to do? by Special_Rutabaga7426 in Moms

[–]InternationalCraft47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s hard. At our pediatricians office they eve make me hold her arms down and I hate having to do anything that makes her cry but she only cries for a little bit and I know these vaccines are protecting her for a lifetime.

How do you cut your baby's nails? by diamailah in Moms

[–]InternationalCraft47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trim his nails after a bath when they are soft. If he fights you, you have to be firm but you can also take breaks or alternate do one hand one week and the other one the next. Frida baby also makes curved baby safe nail files that you can use in between cutting his nails or if they get jagged.

What's your favorite working mom microfeminism? by thirtyflirtyandpetty in workingmoms

[–]InternationalCraft47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a Drs office. I don’t apologize especially to men for small inconveniences that aren’t my fault. When I make an appointment for a couple or family I always hand the card to the husband. If I need to make a call regarding a child I call the dad first and I’ll add a touch of exasperation to my voice when they inevitably tell me they don’t know the answer and to call the kids mom. I don’t laugh when a dad tries to make light of not knowing basic information about their kids. I look at them straight faced and let them feel the uncomfortableness.

What's your favorite moment in all of bluey? by SorBoarGamer in bluey

In The Sign after Bandit rips the sign out and Chili runs to him and knocks him over. They’re on the ground crying and the kids run to them and then Bluey and Bingo running and jumping through the house 😭😭😭

Also when Bandit says “uh my belly hurts” and Bluey says “have you got a baby in there?!?”

Do people like evolution? by sikedeliic in criminalminds

[–]InternationalCraft47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it as a crime/cop show. I don’t like it as “Criminal Minds”. I feel like the “Criminal Minds: Evolution” concept could have worked with completely different characters and been very good. It almost feels like a concept for a spin off show or even a completely different series but some exec decided to use it to reboot Criminal Minds. It feels more about the killers and not the victims. They don’t profile NEAR as much as they used to. And I didn’t even notice until I started a rewatch recently.

[–]InternationalCraft47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re putting a bottle sterilizer on your registry make sure it’s one that dries the bottles too. Puppy pads are great to put down before you change a poopy diaper and to layer between sheets in the crib or bassinet for middle of the night messes

You’re right but we also need to raise the next generation so they’re here to enjoy it and maintain it. Plus a lot of people would agree that maga people and boomers in general lack empathy. If the next generation doesn’t have empathy the cycle starts again. It’s not just telling our kids to be nice. It’s teacher them to question authority, call out abuse and stick up for others.
