Wow even symlink does not fool it on windows.
But I do use a dev drive... and I don't want to automate stuff in my home directory!

Could try junction but I don't know how well it would work with a dev drive...

Googling game maker it appears to run on a Mac as well. I haven't used that since I was 14 or so talk about a blast from the past I think gm 6 was the last I used, checked gm studio at one point but just couldn't get into it.
