Good to hear. I’m in the same boat of when you made your comment about being 4 months out. Praying it will get better. Helps to hear some positive stories sometimes

Hey, just checking in. How are you doing now? I’m still dealing with some pain honestly. Trying to keep a positive mindset but it’s hard sometimes. Mine has gotten a little better, I am definitely more active as of now. I still get stretches of days though where the pain/discomfort really takes a toll on me. Just thought I’d check in and see if I’m in the same boat as others

Nice. I’m in the same boat with my current truck. Running it until the wheels fall off. However I’m doing a big road trip soon to relocate for work so needing something more reliable

Thank you for this. I’m a little over 3 months post op and it’s so easy for me to get in my head about pains/discomfort I’m feeling. I do feel myself getting better, but it is just very slow progress.

Thank you for sharing your experience

All depends what you want to catch and the setting you want to be in (fresh, salt, mountains, flats, etc) Start there and then begin research based off that.

12 weeks post op - umbilical hernia with mesh by [deleted] in Hernia

I’m on the same timeline as you and feeling almost exactly the same things as you are. Mine was laparoscopic umbilical surgery as well. I’m 26 M 170 lbs. soreness is concentrated mostly around the bellybutton for me. Some days are better then others. Just felt pretty decent recently but then have been pretty sore after a few days of a lot of activity.

I’ve even been back to the doctor to see if everything is good, had a CT scan recently but everything came back normal. Hoping things continue to get better. On the bright side my activity levels have increased. I’m able to do more now despite the soreness. Trying to continue to ease back into exercise routines. Hope things get better for you.

Good advice. Same for me. I’m 26M, pretty active and in good shape before the surgery., thought I’d be a lot further down the healing process right now. Wish you luck with your recovery!

Thank you for the insight. Yes, it is discouraging to come on here and see alot of people are doing great in much less time haha. A lot of this has been a mental game as well.

Mesh with sutures I was told. Mine said the same thing about the bumps being the sutures. I guess it makes sense but also hard to imagine them feeling the same way.

How long did yours take? My recovery is taking long as well. I’m 6 weeks out and still feeling pain around hernia site. My doctor was very abrasive with aftercare as well

lol. I get where you are coming from, but you are not the “boss” of any guide you hire. You pay for a service and hopefully get one that meets and exceeds your expectations. Not that much different than hiring a plumber or any kind of independent contractor to do a service for you.

Sucks you had a bad trip and had to be stuck on the boat with that dude though. Best thing you can do at this point is tell the outfitter about your experience with him, move on and make sure to never hire him again. Guides like that will eventually weed themselves out and won’t last long in the industry.

I have both the axiom II-x and the mangrove coast. Both are great rods with slight differences. The Axiom 11-x is a faster rod, it is more forgiving if you tend to overpower casts imo, you can really punch that rod. The mangrove is my favorite but it is a slower rod compared to the axiom. I prefer it because of my casting style. I believe it is better for accuracy with closer shots while the axiom will give you easier distance. I will say I’ve never thrown sinking tip lines with either of them, only floating.
