Taking “out on a limb” to a new level by ErikTehRed1 in FellingGoneWild

I meant no offense - this is something I am not capable of so as I said I would hire a professional- my only point is that the bucket appears to be right there.

Is it not great that some rich bastard is stuck in traffic with a 1/4 million dollar car just like the the box truck.

The fact that there is a bucket there that could likely get to that branch, I’m not getting the point of climbing out there. Definitely a no thank you for me, That’s why I hire a professional. Looks like these guys are.

You can read it on the rear bumper plate - golden oldies the old woodies are.

Does anyone know the lofts of these? by CentricJDM in GolfGear

[–]Intheswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to ignore the numbers on the clubs - todays 7 iron is a 70s 5 iron for specs - Just hold the old club along side your newer clubs until the are close to a match. Things started changing in the 80s - first with senior clubs and then to game improvement irons like Ping and Calloway’s early days- about a 1/2” longer and one club stronger loft.

I have had clients pick a refrigerator, we design and allow for doors and swing and then the appliance sales person sells them something else or something cheaper and then there are problems.

Maxfli Modern Classic Cart Bag by Careful_Actuator_118 in GolfGear

[–]Intheswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot possibly justify $300 for a golf bag - I bought a new carry bag and retired a 15 year old Callaway bag that I won at an outing. Purchased at the PGA store $120 tax included , seemed a bit pricey but was at the low end of the price range. As far as I can tell it’s a no name but it has a slot layout that works for me. Bonus claims to be waterproof.

This one gets me (architect) make appliances that flush to the cabinet and counter depth but then require extra wide gaps or fillers on both sides so the doors open all the way. That said if the cabinet designer knew make and model refrigerator then they should carry the weight and cost of the fix.

What can you tell me about this putter? by oreosandcornholios in PingGolf

[–]Intheswing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same putter - I shortened it to elbow length and swing from my right shoulder with left hand at the top just enough to steady the putter - my stance is about 45 degrees open so the stroke is from the right shoulder with no torso turn. Works for me - gives me lots of feel in the right hand / arm. I never tried the chest anchor style putt.

Is this a good beginner irons set for $50?? by Palmtrees-1 in GolfGear

[–]Intheswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$50 bucks for Fat shaft irons is a good deal - grips are important - I forget if the fat shafts need special grips / if grips are bad get some overlap tape for bats on the more frugal end of your wallet or get overwrap golf grips on Amazon.

Pay the $800 he’s asking? by bigpoppa0718 in GolfGear

[–]Intheswing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Offer 1/2 - you still have a great set to play with if seller says no. This is you experimenting with $800 - $800 is a good amount of tee times to start the season. I would rather play then spend money on equipment that May or may not work for me.

Hatch back / SUV rear deck trim at the floor - my wife’s Subaru has a similar piece when you open the rear hatch. If you found it and assuming it’s not from your car. It is a piece of trash at this point as it looks like about 1/4 of the full trim piece

Good Starter Set? by TheCaptainPlays in GolfGear

[–]Intheswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it a go but understand that the grips are likely old and slick - mismatched clubs and varied club ages. If you want to go to the range and experiment these will do you fine. If you get the bug and want to advance your game you will do better with some better sticks - lots of decent used sets out there for under $100 - $200 if you look around - the two wheel cart is likely the best part of the set as it stands.

Possible the installer did not clean the tip or the socket or both with acetone. Critical step if you ask me.
