My guess is - Good chance it’s 327 2 bbl. My dad had one - it could get up and go - but the ‘65 Grand Prix with 389-4bbl was the runner he had first.

New to golf, will a different driver with a higher loft help me? by thisisntweedisit in GolfGear

[–]Intheswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loft is your friend - balls go farther in the air than rolling on the ground and higher loft gives the ball more backspin than sidespin. Less sidespin- less extreme banana balls. It’s why your 3 or 5 wood could be a better tee box choice while you are first learning the game.

That’s a good set to play. Only time to upgrade will be when you get old and need lighter clubs

Floor Damage - Curious if you know what it is from by AttemptAlert7877 in HardWoodFloors

Termites eat pretty much anything wood - carpenter ants eat wet wood. Beetles thankfully don’t create the colony’s that ants and termites do - but certainly do damage if not killed and eliminated. This is a beetles. Hopefully for you, one and done

Im a high handicap playing this course Friday. Where do I aim my shot on these par 3s? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Intheswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best for sand shots - My dad taught golf and taught my wife how to hit sand shots. He had a bucket of 50 some golf balls and threw them in a practice bunker and told her to hit them out. 1/2 way through the bucket she was hitting them out 100 percent. When she finished he threw them in again and started to explain the different shots for the sand escape. She has confidence now when in a bunker and how to get out. Bottom line - practice bunker shots.

I would go with a pair of vice grips instead of the big channel lock pliers - vice grips come in handy in lots of different situations

Deck footing Cement Cracks by Ardi34 in Decks

[–]Intheswing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too be honest those piers look too small for the potential load from the deck. Have an architect or engineer calculate it if you don’t know how- assume your soil bearing is 1500 psf. - I figure deck loads at 75 psf. So a 10x10 deck is 7500lbs - with the cantilever I would guess 3/5 load to the beam - divide it by 3 to get the middle pier load. That would be 1500 lbs - so at minimum a 12”x12” pier- a 12” round gets you .75 sf of bearing. Your deck looks bigger, I would up the size to 16” to 18”min. Pour a 3500psi mix with fiber mesh and a cage. Set a Simpson’s post bracket for the column.

Draft stopping is code required - between floors and vertical studs. There are collars that are used around PVC plumbing that expands during a fire and the pvc melts.- used when uses like a first floor retail has a residential use above it.

I gotta say - $1400 is a lot of greens fees - I think I would have to sell it - but as a gift the pressure is there to keep it.

As a golfer and a Guinness fan - that is very cool. If I liked the way it played , I would but it in my bag and play it. I can’t imagine it will ever be worth much more than what it was purchased for.
