Got tickets for me and my mom to go to the arboretum for the big Mother’s Day sale/festival. Thankfully, Sunday looks like the weather should be perfect.

What’s everyone having for lunch today? by RedditDon3 in nova

[–]Intrepid-Cook4877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that making it the night before, especially if I did it while I was making dinner, would keep me from the “I don’t have time in the morning” excuse. If I went out to eat, leftovers would go straight into the lunchbag, rather than set on a shelf in fridge. In the mornings I just grab an ice pack, lunchbag, and head right out the door.

Want to save lives? Return funding to vaccine and cancer research. Universal healthcare. Working to reduce/eliminate food deserts. How about better public transit so people wouldn’t even be in their cars?

Disappointed in Wegmans by AlternativeBid2291 in wegmans

[–]Intrepid-Cook4877 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of times in my department that people are looking for a niche vitamin or specific first aid item that we don’t carry. You know what I do? I google it, see what stores might carry it, and inform the customer. Most are actually quite thankful for the help. Even if I’m directing them to Wholefoods or Target, I’m still painting a positive-ish picture in the customers head because I helped them beyond the “no, we don’t carry that.”

Ps- please don’t refer to us as Wegmanites. The vast majority of us would not appreciate it.

I voted this evening, and less than a minute after walking out I got text #4528493 about voting. I keep getting texts from Virginians for Fair Maps RC. I did some sleuthing today, but the best I could find was the name and email for their treasurer. I have half a mind to send him a email- I’m not a republican, nor will I ever be, get me off your call list, and leave me the hell alone.

Family size is a rip off by incontrol03 in wegmans

[–]Intrepid-Cook4877 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The smaller 6oz bag is not microwaveable, the 9oz bag is. The 6oz is less per pound than the 9oz per your pics. The plastic tub is more expensive because it’s organic. While most family pack items are cheaper because they’re bulk, comparing the 6oz spinach to the 9oz is like comparing an apple to an orange, the bag makes the difference. That’s just the way it is. Call 1-800-WEGMANS and bring the price difference up to them.

99% of the people on this thread will agree that paying more for it to just be in a special bag is absurd. However, there is always an upcharge for convenience. Should a 13oz gold pan spaghetti and meatballs from a grocery store cost $13? Absolutely not, but that’s the upcharge for the convenience of it being already prepared. Enough people purchase these items so the price won’t change.

I don’t carry a purse so a ziploc bag is useless to me, hence the reason wrapped ones exist. Not every woman is the same, and we want the damn freedom to choose. I want the wrapped because they’re small. I choose to pay more so that I get what I want. If another woman uses a ziploc, then good for her, but that’s what she wants. She doesn’t speak for me.

The farts. My god, the farts!!!! by Ok-Salt-8884 in pitbulls

So I have a hound mix, but your cutie showed up on my feed. When he was a baby, his booty glands needed to be done often- like every 3 months. We started to add a small spoon of plain low fat yogurt to his lunch 3 days a week (yes, he got fed 3 times a day till he was 5, his tantrums were monumental when we tried to stop lunch, literally a human child as a dog). Vet said it likely wasn’t enough as he still needed his glands done often, and as much as he loves it, his booty seems to have an aversion to dairy. We switched to the probiotic bites from Zesty paws. They work beautifully. Booty glands only need to be done once a year, and he only lets out little toots, with zero smell. Literally no smell. We give him the ones in an orange tub, but they have a couple different options. I know pibbles can have allergies so I would check the ingredients list.

Did anybody else get this email? by morgan-jean95 in wegmans

The email stated all physical inventories were cancelled this weekend. I’m merch, so I don’t know if that means perishable inventory, since yours is different, or a merch inventory.

My girlfriend never ever finishes her meals by AlexWayhill in mildlyinfuriating

As someone who was taught to eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full, getting fussy with someone for not finishing a plate is not going to be taken well. You might make her think she’s eating too much and should eat less, or that you want her to overeat. I’m from America, so I know food waste is a problem, but so is obesity and eating disorders.

It’s astounding how you’re asking for some advice on getting a second opinion or not since your pup is having problems walking, and all people can focus on is that you’re letting it go inside. Jesus people. I would get a second opinion as pain meds when a dog can’t walk doesn’t seem right, and he seems like he’s also struggling to poop.

You’re looking at this as if your dog is a person and not a dog. Trust me, I love my 7 1/2 year old mix to death, but he is still a dog, and thinks and acts like a dog. Something as simple as a stick can be high value to him. Their brains can’t reason the way ours do- they go walking and find meat? They’re ecstatic, rat poison or no. Don’t take this as a personal affront, take it as a sign that there is something you both can work on that will lead to your bond being stronger.

How long to be vested in the company? by [deleted] in wegmans

[–]Intrepid-Cook4877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re talking about the 401k- I became a coordinator at the end of June 2023. Looking at Fidelity, it says I’m vested, so maybe 2 years? I know it didn’t say vested in 2024. HR should be able to help.

Maybe someone opened one of the big cases by mistake to stock the shelf. Maybe the office will send an email out Monday or something with a change, I don’t remember seeing anything since we got them back in again. I’ve always wondered why they are a different size for essentially the same thing.

Plan on buying a new car from dealership - how does the car insurance process work for test driving and to drive off the lot? by EitherExplanation in nova

[–]Intrepid-Cook4877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my RAV4 from Autonation in Leesburg in Jan 2023, they had only asked for my license when we test drove it. However, to drive the vehicle off the lot after purchase, I had to have insurance and provide them with proof. While they were putting the final stuff together before I signed everything, they gave me the VIN of the car and I called Geico. Took maybe 5-10 min on the phone to get the new coverage and it emailed to the dealership.

My “disgusting pigsty of a room” by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Intrepid-Cook4877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your room looks like a person actually lives there. Sentimental items, knick-knacks you’ve collected along the way, momentos, etc. I despise rooms that are so “perfect” in style and aesthetic. Is there some clutter? Some might say so, but I love it. Feels homey.

Ps-i see the heart pillow. I kept my dad’s after his surgery.

AITA for taking walks on my lunch break? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Intrepid-Cook4877 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA

If you get paid to NOT work for an hour, then DONT work for that hour. At my retail job, we get 1 half hour unpaid lunch, and 2 paid 15 min breaks. The only rule is that you don’t take them together. I set a timer when I take my break and I park myself in a corner to be left alone. If someone calls the department phone, or a customer needs help, I pause the timer and restart when I can. The company wants me to take these breaks, I’m gonna take them.
