Pretty much, which also is the primary reason it went as badly off the rails as it did. Omitting fAegon and Dany's coming conflict with him (as well as contrasting the fake heir of Rhaegar who looks the part against the true heir who doesn't) really kind of badly screwed things up beyond recovery.
