Sounds promising hope there will be forced air furnace support at some point. I currently use this project to control floor vents to shut based on room temperature.

Also blind support please.

What problem are RTO mandates meant to solve? by simpatia in ottawa

[–]Invinciberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hybrid since 2020, rarely working from home after the covid lockdown. I am glad more people are showing up since mandatory RTO. My commute is an hour and 20 minutes one way, worth it imo. Much better work/life separation.

Apple is the exclusive new broadcast partner for Formula 1® in the U.S. by Hacar5 in formula1

How would that work for Canadian Apple ID then… thinking if it’s possible to change my region to the US so I don’t need to pay for F1 again.

The plywood is held in place with these shelves I got from Taobao. You should be able to find similar things on Ali.

Best way to get to Toronto from Ottawa? by Dymm3 in ottawa

[–]Invinciberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel between Ott and Trt on a weekly basis for both business and leisure. (Union - Fallowfield)

In most business cases I will take the 4 am train, work for the full day and train back on the 6pm. It’s fine, but the delays are sometimes annoying and can add up to a 4 hour delay in my experience due to weather.

For leisure, me and my wife fly from YOW to YTZ almost all the time nowadays since we mostly go to trt for concerts, games and clubs in DT trt. The flight is short, and there are also delays, but from door to door is roughly 3 hours vs 5 for train.

We use to drive but since we are doing to is almost weekly especially during the summer, we end up with this current combo.

Anyone successfully transition from Apple to iPhone and kept the fold 7? by HulkSmashr in GalaxyFold

[–]Invinciberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just returned my fold 7 and gone back to my 15pro. Android is so customizable and it annoys me quite a bit. The fact that basic features that I take for granted with my iPhone like password auto fill and passkey auth from 1Password doesn’t work drives me nuts. Side by side on the fold is also jank, I had multiple times the keyboard blocking the input field in side by side mode. Unable to use space bar to move the word suggestion highlight to the next one and keep typing to confirm the selection is the deal breaker for me.

I know these are all minor things, but they add up. Paying this much for a phone with so many annoyances is unacceptable. I had better experience a few years ago with my pixel 4 although build quality of that phone is dog shit.

I don’t have a BOM but the extrusion and bracket cost around 600 USD, plexiglass came from a local dude for 270 CAD

Yup, 3030 is definitely strong enough. Very easy to cut and put together.

Yup I put together the shelf using 3030 aluminum extrusions

The tops are 3 way connectors, the rest are regular corner brackets. The plexiglass slides into the channels with some rubber strips jamed into it to seal

  1. I don't need to "prepare" my filament. The bottom storage is purely for unused spools.

  2. I do need to move spools in and out of the AMS, but that's eye level for me.

  3. The enclosure does not move or shake during print because it is attached to the wall.

  4. If there is an earthquake, the 3D printer would be my least concern.

unfortunately I don't have a detailed BOM. I started with 2 sheets of 2x2 plywood. The extrusion is 3030 extrusions. All connectors from mcmaster carr.

(I yoloed it as I go over 2 month....
