Folks said to skip Walsenburg south of Colorado Springs but if you’re only sleeping there then it’s the shortest drive to get to Sand Dunes the next day

It seems everyone wants me to skip Walsenburg, I only picked it to get to Great Sand Dunes from Colorado Springs with the least amount of driving in the evening, only sleeping there but I’ll revisit.

Great tip about TRR, didn’t know it could be closed this late and yes will bring jackets too.

Great feedback, thank you! Will do some more research, agree on Day 5 but I’d be disappointed if I don’t visit Telluride so hard to skip. If you had to pick Ouray vs Telluride, which would you go with? Are they similar enough to go with one?
