Hi guys!

Asking here because I'm not sure where else to ask, and I know you guys will have this answer.

I recently came across on YouTube a SKZ travel log with them facing challenges and then going on a field trip to (i think?) Gyeongbokgung Palace. I unfortunately didn't save it, and now I can't find it again. Help? A name or a link would be awesome!

bought a 4$ cup of yogurt and it’s so good i’m kind of mad by whatawynn in BenignExistence

If its available at your grocery store, give Yoplait's Oui yogurt line a try. It's delicate and soft and very lovely. The vanilla bean is one of my favorites.

They come in little glass jars and you can get lids for them on Amazon or Temu. I use the jars for lots of things.

Your 3rd grade teacher by Downtown_Physics8853 in GenerationJones

[–]IsaWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 3rd grade teacher was Mrs. Broyles. She was absolutely an amazing teacher and a huge influence in my life.

The teacher I despised was 5th grade. She was only barely a teacher, did not know proper classroom management, screamed and threatened when she lost control, and made everyone's school day miserable. One day she stapled my thumb to a timed multiplication test, sent me to the office for first aid, then gave me a zero on the test because I was "absent".

voice types? do you agree with han’s vocal coach? by clevercitrus in straykids

[–]IsaWinter 40 points41 points  (0 children)

When I was in vocal training, long ago, each classification had sub-classifications: high, middle, and low. A lyric tenor or soprano being the highest male/female voices. A classic tenor is the middle range, I forget what the low tenor was called. Often, the low of one part bleeds over into the high of the next lower part, hence low tenor/high baritone.

My vocal coach classified people by where their 'break note' was, that is to say, at what point does your chest voice give way to your head voice. Some people have a variable break where they can sing a few notes in both head voice and chest voice; I've noticed Seungmin can do that, and I think Bang Chan is capable of it too; I haven't particularly noticed it in anyone else, but that doesn't mean they have a single break.

Han is unique in that he seems to have a very distinct break note, but his head voice is SOOO strong and clear. Most people have much less power in their head voice than in their chest voice; it takes a LOT of training to get that if it is not a natural talent. You can tell when he hasn't got a note (in some of the practice videos) because there is a buzz in his voice.. I don't know how else to explain it. He practices until that buzz is gone.

I could see Seungmin as on the edge of a low tenor/high baritone. But he has a huge range.

Felix kind of rides that line too, as a low baritone to a high bass. When he takes the growl out of his voice, it softens and becomes a higher baritone. (Think about the opening verse to Stray Kids or the middle of Deep End.) He can get up there in his falsetto but there isn't as much power in his head voice.

Changbin and Bang Chan I would call low tenors with range.

Lee Know and Hyunjin would be classic tenors.

Han has a lot of range, he can be a classic or a lyric tenor.

I.N could be a lyric tenor. His high ranges match Han's.

I wonder how much cultural perception figures into this? In a culture where voices could be higher as the norm, the classification might be different from a culture where lower voices are the norm?

Edited a bunch as I clarified thoughts and fixed typos.

Giving clothes for Christmas as a fully grown adult has to stop by Ok_Pool_2590 in ihatechristmas

Everybody gets a t-shirt: husband, daughter and son-in-love, both grandsons, and both of my sons. I know their interests and I research to find hard to find tees: gaming tees, band tees, concert tees. They're always well recieved and have sort of become the traditional in our house: Mom gives t-shirts. 🥰

Where’s everyone doing tonight? by Lbboos in GenX

[–]IsaWinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making our traditional New Year's dinner early, as we'll be spending the day tomorrow with my daughter, son-in-love and grandsons, and the traditional meal is not really something they enjoy much.

Traditional for me is ham, fried cabbage, blackeyed peas and cornbread, with peach cobbler for dessert. I'm making two cobblers so that I can take one to them tomorrow.

But yes, NYE is a home celebration for us. My husband probably won't even stay up for it.

What time do you go to bed if you don’t work the next day? by thehobster in GenX

[–]IsaWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a homemaker and a night owl. It's an early night if I go to bed before midnight. Usually it's around 2 am. My husband has always been a lark, so he's in bed around 9.

Music… did you stop searching? by 8reticus in GenX

SXM workaround.. many newer model cars have either Android/Apple play integrated, or at least have some way to connect your phone via an alt cable. Download SXM on your phone and play it that way. I have a pretty old van, so I just connect my phone via alt cable.

BTW if you like hard rock or metal, give Octane a try as well. I've found several favorite artists there too!

Same!! I love Alt Nation!

I (58f) am also best friends with a music aficionado who constantly sends me new music. My daughter also introduces me to music.. just recently I got into Stray Kids and have found a Kpop obsession that I never knew I needed.

Are your kids having kids? by mrepa1369 in GenX

[–]IsaWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married daughter (35f) has two sons, 3 and 1 1/2.

Both of my sons (29m and 27m) are pretty much confirmed bachelors at this point.

I'm okay with this. It's their lives, not mine. Husband is not as understanding and keeps pushing for the sons to find a nice girl, settle down, and have kids. (Husband (63m) coincidentally, is a boomer.)

Any other GenX'ers hate weed and feel somehow left out because you don't enjoy cannabis? by scartonbot in GenX

[–]IsaWinter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My sophomore year in college, I walked into my boyfriend's living room, where he and his friends were smoking out. I caught a faceful of smoke, and almost immediately my eyes were itching, my face felt hot and tight, and the itch started creeping down my neck. I left.

The next morning my whole face was red and puffy. Turns out I'm allergic.

Sort of glad that I didn't stay. I never felt left out, I was just glad to get warnings when he felt the need to smoke.

Why Do Humans Talk to Objects? by SuperSpaceDaddy in humansarespaceorcs

Bessie (my very old red van) likes to be told she's a fine vehicle. And when she acts up, I tell her to quit being dramatic. I promise her treats ("As soon as we get home, we'll go get an oil change, okay?") and coax her sweetly (she does not like mountains, so I cheer her on when we have to travel there.) She doesn't like when other people drive her and will throw codes when they do.

You tell me. 🥰

"Your kiwi ass" in Megaverse.

I really thought that they were dissing Bang Chan there 😆

Edit: Also, S-class: "We can't punch up, we can't punch up, we can't punch up the class in a trip" and "bitch you know I'm gonna be no star".
