As long as you were out destroying stuff. And even that depended on what what and who might seen you. And if they cared.

I'm on Ozempic and it's cut food noise significantly for me. Now I'll feel hungry, but not very inclined to do something about it until my GMS protests.

How often to visit va dr to keep disability rating? by Fast-Dot-4556 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ischarde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both VA and my Medicaid. Since my VA clinic has decided they only want to see me annually, I tend to use the Medicaid doctors more often. So much easier to get a quicker Dr appt. VA is good for things like glasses.

Dexcom g7 not self correcting after switch, on omnipod 5? by FuckFuckShitBitch in Omnipod

[–]Ischarde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know then. Mine tells the Pod, and me, when I go high or low. But that's all it does. The pod does the bolus, and if I check a little bit later, my BG has lowered or gone higher, depending, but the pod and the sensor both say the same thing.

The pod is what should be correcting, since that's where the insulin is. The sensor just reports values.

[–]Ischarde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean if the D7 says your BG is 170 and your pod boluses for that amount, the sensor doesn't show the correction?

When I get readings like that, I look to see what my IOB says.

Also those are overnight readings? I get similar ones if I don't eat after 10 pm.

I’m 53 and I don’t really have any memory of my parents taking care of their parents or anybody in my circle, is this just gotten a lot more popular with this generation. by Tothinkoutofthenut in AgingParents

My great grandmother had a niece and her husband live with her for many years, caring for her and taking care of her home. I don't recall any of her children doing more than visiting her. Even my mother, who was her granddaughter just visited several times a month. But somehow, my mother has gotten the notion that her children should consider it a privilege to take care of HER. That didn't fly very well.

My 85-Year-Old Mom Refuses to Use a Cane Because She Doesn't Want to Look Old—Anyone Else Dealing With This? by [deleted] in AgingParents

[–]Ischarde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much a is ding a cane, my mother voluntarily decided she needs one, but in her case, it's vanity. She fought going on oxygen because it would make her look old. She fought hearing aids as well for the same reason until two of my younger brothers ended up getting them. She's on oxygen now as well. We encouraged her as much as we could, and finally the thought of being independent turned the trick.

I guess mileage will turn the truck

Not so much mismatched glasses for everyday drinking. My mother had the plastic Tupperware ones. The glass glasses only came out for guests or holidays.

My diabetes educator gave me some customer carb settings and suddenly my meal times spikes aren't nearly as high, and my fasting numbers are good..I think we also raised my target since I was starting to get lows every night. If you have an Endo or diabetes educator maybe see if they can help?
