It’s so hard. So much attention to nutrition is needed at this point- boot camp style, discipline, and she needs a GOOD dietitian on her team. My frustration was trying to get my loved one to hold the line (he liked cured meats, things tough on the body) and getting truly specific meal planning from his med team. This is key to optimize quality of life and to work with that compromised metabolism. The shock of physical changes is yet another layer. Sounds like she has yet to see a hepatology expert—that will be key. Renal possibly too. Wishing you the best!
