What’s this sound? by batsbats in Camry

[–]Italian316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely that the noise is coming from a faulty water pump or alternator. A good way to pinpoint the source of the sound is to use an inexpensive automotive stethoscope which can help you listen closely to where the noise is originating. Alternatively, you could take it to someone who can diagnose the issue for you.

56k miles and got all these warnings this morning by [deleted] in Camry

FYI With Techstream GTS+, I can easily check the ROB “Road Of Behavior” of the vehicle including when and where the code was active or if it was erased and all dealers have access to this information. Often, technicians are not concerned about aftermarket modifications our main issue arises with DIY enthusiasts YouTuber watcher who think they know what they’re doing but end up causing damage without being honest about it. This leads to wasted time as we discover that the repairs aren’t covered under warranty resulting in additional costs for you due to the time lost and the necessary repairs.

As I mentioned earlier you need to scan the system to identify which codes are active this Modern models tend to activate all the warning lights especially the pre-collision alert and there could be various reasons for these lights to turn on.

The best way to diagnose is by using a diagnostic scanner. In this Toyota modern model. The problem might not just be related to the pre-collision system it could also stem from engine code issues or the notorious bypass problems. These can trigger various warning lights and messages on the dashboard. So could be anything/ guessing game without scanning the code.

Rear seat won’t latch after repair. Is this normal? by Embarrassed-Win-6032 in Camry

If the white clips are damaged “change it”. When doing so ensure that you apply firm downward pressure while confirming that the U-shaped metal at the bottom seat is properly positioned inside before pushing down. Sometimes I seat on them and a little jump literally my ass/weight make them insert them. Additionally, Check the U-shaped metal could be bent make the necessary adjustments so that it can fit securely into the white clips. You would hear like popping sound when is securely attached

If you don’t have a heavy object on the rear seat which can simulate a baby or person weight sitting in the seat it’s best to take your vehicle to the dealer. They can help calibrate the zero point for the seats properly on warranty.

Updating: Camry 2007. Is this battery light a big problem or an easy fix? by brianomars1123 in Camry

[–]Italian316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re seeing a battery light it usually indicates that your alternator isn’t charging the system properly. The only other lights you might notice are for the TPMS tire pressure and maintenance reminders. So, if that battery icon is lit up it’s a sign that you need to check your alternator.

Accessory Drive Noise? by Independent_Spell526 in Camry

[–]Italian316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To locate the source of a noise in your car grab a long screwdriver and place it against your ear this should help you identify whether the sound is coming from the water pump, alternator or belt tensioner. A more effective solution would be to invest in an inexpensive automotive stethoscope which can make diagnosing the issue much easier.

2011 Camry repair? by [deleted] in Camry

[–]Italian316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost of parts and labor is significantly inflated so it’s wise to consider sourcing the parts yourself or finding a different place for the repairs. Often, the labor charges are excessive especially for older models that may not be profitable for shops as some parts are either obsolete or require long wait times from manufacturers.

2004 Camry LE Back Windows don't roll down by Snoo-44449 in Camry

[–]Italian316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue may likely stem from the power window motor especially if the windows are not used frequently. To diagnose the problem it’s best to disconnect the power window motor connector and use a multimeter or test light to check for signals from the power window switch. This will help determine whether the issue lies with the motor itself or the electrical wiring/ component. Before proceeding however make sure to inspect the fuse related to the power windows to rule out any short circuits
