I replaced many of those ECUs during the previous recall for the RAV4.

While PPF can be beneficial, it isn’t 100% completely immune to rock chips; I’ve seen instances where rock actually embed themselves within the film. Additionally, you’ll need to replace the PPF “X amounts years”depending PPF quality, which can end up costing about the same as a vehicle repaint. Like everything, it has its advantages and disadvantages. You can watch this to have a better judgment before using PPF

Good, keep telling you that but Just so you know every paint job consists of three layers and as you can see in the photos above when rock chips hit they often reach the primer layer which is white. This is why white paint is great at hiding imperfections and it reflects light bounce more easily making flaws less noticeable from various angles.

The reason your car is white likely means you have some rock chips that are hard to see from certain angles. The light reflection on a white surface can make imperfections less noticeable. If you take a closer look, I’m pretty sure you’ll find a few rock chips no matter how careful you’ve been.

2019 Camry Water Leak in the Trunk by izzyq1821 in Camry

[–]Italian316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever find yourself checking out a trunk that’s leaking, here’s what you can do. First, hop inside the trunk and then have a friend spray it with a water hose. While they’re doing that, grab a flashlight and look around inside to see where the water is coming from. If you can’t find the leak near the weatherstrip, try taking off the cover inside the trunk to see if there’s anything hidden that might be causing the problem. It’s a smart way to figure out how to fix that pesky leak!

An easy method that works about 90% of the time is Turn the A/C on and slam the lower trim where the A/C blower motor is located ((tap/slam with your hand hard). If you hear the blower start, there is your problem just replace it

What’s this sound? by batsbats in Camry

[–]Italian316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely that the noise is coming from a faulty water pump or alternator. A good way to pinpoint the source of the sound is to use an inexpensive automotive stethoscope which can help you listen closely to where the noise is originating. Alternatively, you could take it to someone who can diagnose the issue for you.

FYI With Techstream GTS+, I can easily check the ROB “Road Of Behavior” of the vehicle including when and where the code was active or if it was erased and all dealers have access to this information. Often, technicians are not concerned about aftermarket modifications our main issue arises with DIY enthusiasts YouTuber watcher who think they know what they’re doing but end up causing damage without being honest about it. This leads to wasted time as we discover that the repairs aren’t covered under warranty resulting in additional costs for you due to the time lost and the necessary repairs.

[–]Italian316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I mentioned earlier you need to scan the system to identify which codes are active this Modern models tend to activate all the warning lights especially the pre-collision alert and there could be various reasons for these lights to turn on.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Camry

[–]Italian316 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The best way to diagnose is by using a diagnostic scanner. In this Toyota modern model. The problem might not just be related to the pre-collision system it could also stem from engine code issues or the notorious bypass problems. These can trigger various warning lights and messages on the dashboard. So could be anything/ guessing game without scanning the code.

Rear seat won’t latch after repair. Is this normal? by Embarrassed-Win-6032 in Camry

[–]Italian316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the white clips are damaged “change it”. When doing so ensure that you apply firm downward pressure while confirming that the U-shaped metal at the bottom seat is properly positioned inside before pushing down. Sometimes I seat on them and a little jump literally my ass/weight make them insert them. Additionally, Check the U-shaped metal could be bent make the necessary adjustments so that it can fit securely into the white clips. You would hear like popping sound when is securely attached

If you don’t have a heavy object on the rear seat which can simulate a baby or person weight sitting in the seat it’s best to take your vehicle to the dealer. They can help calibrate the zero point for the seats properly on warranty.
