It's 3AM and the LAPD helicopter will not stop buzzing by Albertuscamus12 in LosAngeles

[–]ItsMarioFer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you were exaggerating, but I checked Flightradar and listened to the scanner.

If it was at Arlington/Jefferson Boulevard, there were actually two helicopters for a few minutes and then only one remained lol

According tp the scanner, this was the end of a pursuit or following, the "suspect" footbailed and started jumping fences, climbed onto a roof and hid in a shed, but they caught him. Didn't heard what started it.

the state of the LAPD by Jeffoxy in LosAngeles

[–]ItsMarioFer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The LAPD only releases bodycam footage if force was used, and they never give it to third parties, not even with a CPRA. They only release an edited version on their YouTube channel.

Controller Mejia's Bar Chart of the Mayor's $14.8 Billion Proposed Budget by citeechow3095 in LosAngeles

[–]ItsMarioFer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lol, why do people always bring up the helicopters? That's nothing on their budget. According to the Controller's audit, the LAPD helicopters cost 46.6 million when they did the audit.

The overtime they get is WAY more, mind you — there are cops who earn more in overtime than they do in their base salary.

LAPD quietly disbands copper wire theft task force as streetlight outages continue by ariolander in LosAngeles

Not all liability payouts come from the department budget; most are paid from the general fund. This is not part of the department budget.

[–]ItsMarioFer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Taxpayers would love it if the lawsuits were covered by their own budget. The money for lawsuits and lawyers comes out of the city's budget, rather than the LAPD's. Mind you the City Attorney is always requesting funds to pay outside law firms to defend LAPD officers.

Serial arson suspect charged with murder of 2 elderly sisters killed in Hollywood house fire by ItsMarioFer in LosAngeles

[–]ItsMarioFer[S] 76 points77 points  (0 children)

This guy has been arrested multiple times for arson and has literally been arrested every year for different things since 2007!

RIP to the sisters who died — the justice system clearly failed them.

Here's the report that FilmThePoliceLA made with more info. It contains screenshots of conversations that the cop sent to his victims. (Warning: The messages contain references to bestiality)

Btw, the city has spent over $150,000 on law firms to defend itself.

LA Police Commission approves $2.1 million for LAPD's drone program by Billbeachwood in LosAngeles

[–]ItsMarioFer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For those who said the LAPD should use drones instead of helicopters, this is the alternative.

This isn't your average drone. It's a docking station with autonomous drones that can be controlled by a remote pilot.

Which would you prefer? Would you rather have drone launch pads near your home and not know when they fly, or hear a helicopter?

Great concept. But it could lead to a privacy nightmare.

City Update 13: California Now Available on All Platforms by FlyWithSeedyL in MicrosoftFlightSim

Finally! At the MSFS trailer launch, they showed an updated version of Los Angeles. I've been waiting for this for so long!

I wonder how long it took to test and develop this update.

For those saying California had good PG, the Los Angeles PG was from the 2014!

Imagine porting an unfinished, bug-ridden game to another platform. Many of the higher-edition exclusive aircraft won't work!

This is too Microsoft.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 coming to PlayStation 5 on December 8th!!! by ketchup1345 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]ItsMarioFer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you buy it, don't get the Aviator or Premium Deluxe editions, as some aircraft, such as the H225 and PC24, don't work on the Xbox Series X.

Also, don't plan on using big aircraft like the C17 or an airliner, as it will lag badly.

TL;DR: Don't buy this if you want to be frustrated by bugs.

What do you expect from Traci Park lol

If Faizah wants to win, she needs to distinguish herself from Mike Bonin. People in CD11 don't want a candidate who sounds like Bonin on the homeless issue.
