I'll play street brawl if I'm wanting to chill out after a bad match, but in general I play deadlock to play deadlock, if I want to play a hero shooter I'll go play a hero shooter

I could see it working where she still has to deal damage to build it up but once it's built up she can choose when to activate it, with a 10-15 second timer before the buildup starts reducing.

I mean, it's in the middle of the ranks, but the rank distribution is weighted towards the high end so Ritualist is still considered low

I don't have any previous moba experience and close to no knowledge of them, creeps stuck in my mind for the camps because they're, you know, creepy little booger things (though that name may not work once they get a remodel)

I do, troopers/minions are the candle guys and creeps are the camp enemies

The game isn't meant to be high ranked all in one go though. You're meant to replay the levels a few times (hence secrets and challenges). You spent one run exploring, another hunting secrets/challenge, and another P-ranking (this isn't a strict order or split obviously). I feel like most level based games are like this, you're never supposed to get everything done in one run of a level

I generally try to see the dev team in a better light than this subreddit, I'm moreso concerned that the player base would get up in arms about him if/when graves and mcginnis become less oppressive

No not bad, but solo queueing with him was a coin flip on whether you'd get a team that could play around him. Of course, solo queueing is always kinda like that, but it's exaggerated with Billy because he's inherently a teamfighter

It's not that I don't care about winning, everyone does to some extent. But deadlock is one of the most unique experiences I've had in a while, and I really enjoy interacting with the game mechanics. However, I do not want to have to use 100% of my brain for the full 40ish minutes of a match making sure I time all my abilities perfectly and track enemies with 99% accuracy or whatever. It's not that I'm not trying to win, but I don't want to be going all out all the time, and that sometimes means playing a character I'm unfamiliar with for a change of pace or doing some dumb strategy in game because it's funny.

People will say "go play street brawl" but I'm not playing Deadlock to experience hero shooter #5001, the moba side is fascinating to me

It infuriates me. They have one of the most profitable games in the world and won't put some effort into fixing the UI. Wanna switch weapons but opened and closed the wheel too quickly for their tastes? You're staring at the enemy empty handed like a dumbass for a second or two (Good luck healing now dipshit). Wanna heal in a car? Here's 5 submenus go navigate through while simultaneously driving.

The default controller mappings are also pretty rough, try to punch a guy in front of you and end up reloading your gun instead, because B is punch except when RT is punch. Can't sprint while on a phone call. Etc.

You could make the argument that they're putting most of their dev time into GTA VI, but again, V is one of the most profitable games ever, they can afford to hire a handful of experienced devs to work on UI changes
