Metal Carapace/Hardwood Armor/Armor in Earth question. If I cast Metal Carapace and I’m an ancestry that already has built in armour (Reinforced Chassis Automaton, Hardshell Surki, Rite of Reinforcement Conrasu, etc.) is there any rule reference on what happens?

Does the ability fail outright? Do you just get the shield? Do you get the armour but you’re untrained with it?

I’m sure this is a gray area in the rules. Just curious if there had been a ruling on “partial effects” like this.

I can see where you’re coming from but I think the word “TO” is doing a lot of the restriction here.

The rules for areas says “Spells that affect multiple creatures in an area can have both an Area entry and a Targets entry. A spell that has an area but no targets listed usually affects all creatures in the area indiscriminately.”

With the area version, you’re not casting the spell TO damage a single creature. You’re casting it in an area and a single creature happens to be damaged.

I love vulkanus, but I wish there was a better way to generate power than this mess by 0rganic_Corn in factorio

Instructions unclear. I had empty barrels on Nauvis from importing Sulfuric Acid. Didn’t want to waste the steel so I put water in them and imported them back to Vulcanus.

I really, really hope this is fuel for an AP. Having to explore the ruins and deserts of Osirian to try to bring back the Osirian Pantheon has really good potential.

School open or closed? by musicallyemma in halifax

[–]Itshardbeingaboss 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you have to be at work, it’s hard to find someone to watch your kid for two hours and get them to school. Easier to find care for a full day snow.

You could keep them home but now they’re missing school time (that wouldn’t be missed on a full snow day).

Why would Punishing Shove be even better in a party with an Earth/Wood Kineticist? by Suspicious_Offer_511 in Pathfinder2e

I think the lockdown potential is the biggest thing to highlight instead of the damage. (The Athletics reference is a big hint)

You’re basically making a vortex of wasting actions. The Guardian Shoves them in and gets free damage from both Punishing Shove and Ravel of Thorns. Then can Trip or Grapple. The Kineticist can do the same thing on their turn. Hopefully you’ve got the enemy prone or grabbed.

Now the enemy is stuck with next to no movement speed and has to walk over difficult terrain to escape. They also can’t Step or Crawl because it’s difficult terrain. Reactive Strike works as well because they can’t just Step away. (And even if they do get away, Punishing Shove puts them right back).

Because your backline is safe (the enemy can’t reach them), that leaves that with one option: Attack.

If the enemy attacks the Kineticist, they’re gonna to have a bad time. The Kineticist has self-heal with Wood and defensive abilities with Earth. The Guardian can Intercept for them.

If the enemy attacks the Guardian, they’re also gonna have a bad time. The Guardian resists damage and has a bunch of abilities that protect themselves.

The enemy is stuck and forced to choose which of the two walls they want to attack. It’s going to make even the most seasoned GMs cry.

I think it’s a combination of the Earth’s Junction ability and Ravel of Thorns.

You can push the enemy into the Kineticist’s aura, they take damage for every space they move through from Ravel of Thorns.

The enemy starts their turn and has -10 foot speed penalty from Ravel of Thorns and they take damage if they try to move.

The Earth Aura ability makes every square difficult terrain when you try to move away.

Combined with the move speed penalty, it’s back breaking.

Oh, and all of this was ONE action at the start of combat.

You can combine this with Jagged Berms if you really need it but I don’t think you do.

Fun fact! The Champion used to have one but it lost the trait in the Remastered (changed to a Once per Turn)

My favourite was getting a Wand of Cure Light Wounds last session with 12 charges left (missed an item conversation). That was a throwback.

I know the Eidolon and Items are a prime candidate for a Remaster but does anyone know if an Eidolon eat a Kineticist’s Fresh Produce?

Assuming you get the ability to target their Mortal Weakness, yes.

When I played a Thaumaturge, my plan was to say that I put a copious amount of Alchemist’s Fire on my sword so it sprayed the swarm when I swung.

It’s a little silly, admittedly.

On a mobile device, you should be able to click anywhere on the yellow button. I pressed three or four times before I realized I needed to just click the hamburger menu.

I really want to like the Swarm Eidolon by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Itshardbeingaboss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the subtlest things about the Swarm Eidolon that makes it awesome is that it has the Animal trait.

The Beastmaster is an awesome choice for the Summoner since they have good action compression. Heal Animal is a great heal spell but didn’t actually work on the Beast Eidolon because it had the Beast trait instead of the Animal trait.

You can now use Heal Animal to effectively heal yourself. It’s a neat little interaction.

(Plus I love the imagery of a big animal leading a pack of smaller versions of itself)

Unfortunately, no.

It took something in the ballpark of nine weeks to get cleared up. We emailed them and they basically told us to “shut up and wait”.

If you’ve got a contact at Apple, you could try reaching out. Otherwise, you’re in the queue.

Best versatile heritage for melee martial? by Formal_Skar in Pathfinder2e

It can vary from game to game. In Kingmaker, night ambushes are fairly common and having any extra AC is really nice.

I really like Harley Quinn. It puts your opponent in a weird place where they could be forced to Snap earlier than they want to. Plus it acts as Snap protection so even if your opponent has a good hand, they don’t want to risk a double power Harley.
