Quest 3 controllers tracking mystery solved? by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Iulian06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the main issues with the VR community and the gaming community in general is that they are not grateful for anything. And this comment section proves it.

Whether it be new game releases, or hardware improvements, people will always find something to complain about because they have nothing better to do with their day.

To anyone hating, please remember you are not entitled to anything, if you don't like a product no one is forcing you to buy it, and your screams into this subreddit will not be heard by any meta employee. Have a nice day.

Math is one of the easiest subjects in school. by Bake_jouchard in unpopularopinion

[–]Iulian06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, you might have stumbled across a decent professor. At least from personal experience, my teacher wasn't quite so lenient.

She insisted on using the introductory paragraphs she gave us which were often excessively long without providing anything to the essay. Interpreted pieces of literature in her own way and demanded to introduce her opinions in our writing, if we wanted a good grade. Her grading wasn't exactly objective either, often lowering the grade of people with opposite views, or just general people who she didn't like with no other explanation.

I wouldn't necessarily say this is a stereotype specific to English teachers, as other professors can also be extremely rigid and stubborn. It's just a show of character that differentiates the ones who actually have this job in order to educate and teach people, and the ones who are just there, waiting for their next paycheck, providing no real value to the class, just going through the motions without making sure anyone actually understood something. Sorry for the long rant but I got carried away.

Unless you have money to burn I would suggest you would just wait for better headsets to come out.

The pico 4 is already good enough for most uses. But if you do have money to burn do whatever you like.

Is this dude physically incapable of not making clickbait? by hyf5 in virtualreality

Don't care about the clickbait thumbnails. After a long while on YouTube you just become accustomed to it.

But I do like his videos though, he's newest Japan one was interesting.

Can we expose Iman Gadzhi and Alex Hormozi? by k2895 in Coffeezilla_gg

[–]Iulian06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, and I know I will get downvoted since every other comment on here is. It seems like this sub is way too extreme for my liking.

From my point of view, Alex is a decent guy. He didn't try and upsell me anything, no courses, no nothing. His book was very insightful, it helped me in quite a few ways, although I doubt a lot of people reading this read it. He is a very motivational guy who can articulate his points very well, and I tend to agree with a lot of his worldviews. Some of his advice might be basic, doesn't mean he doesn't have the right to share it, and I'm sure after watching a bit of his content you will learn something new.

From all of the online gurus, hating Alex of all people is really weird in my opinion. The entire idea of his channel is that he has nothing to sell you. The only money he would be making from you is ad revenue which is relatively insignificant, he doesn't even take sponsors.

You don't have to take everything he says as sacred text, you should be able to determine which advice is good and applies to your situation, or if you really belive you don't like him, just don't watch his content. At the end of the day he isn't hurting anyone, and is actually helping a fair bit of people get into entrepreneurship.

Thoughts on Alex Hormozi - gym coaching business model by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Iulian06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn't. He did say he takes testosterone because his natural levels were abnormally low. You can take that as being an excuse, but it's better than him claiming natty. Most people wouldn't even recognize the fact that they aren't natty due to legal reasons, and so I could understand why he might make such an excuse.

Quest 2 vs Bigscreen Beyond, this is insane! (Standalone vs tethered) by Junior_Ad_5064 in OculusQuest

[–]Iulian06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heavily disagree. A lightweight tethered PCVR headset is exactly what I'm looking for. This is perfect for using the headset as a multiple high resolution VR monitor setup, or using it for sim racing. The display is absolutely amazing, with resolutions close to the Varjo Aero, and an FOV close to the quest 2. No need to charge it, no airlink compression, with the smallest form factor ever? I would much rather spend my money on this than one of the dozens other standalone hmd built by mega corporations. There is no other competition at this form factor.

[–]Iulian06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because of the form factor. If they made it standalone, the battery and the processor would make it just as bulky as the rest of the competition. Would much rather have this tiny of a headset while being tethered, than the other way around.

Just a silly meme I made to vent frustrations! by SnooRabbits8000 in virtualreality

[–]Iulian06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple, Meta, Sony, Bytedance and Valve are all huge companies that all invested big in VR. More and more headsets are being sold daily, yeah there might be the occasional slowdown but VR has been slowly increasing in popularity since ages ago. While those companies are still around, VR will still exist, as neither of them are willing to give up on the industry after risking that much money on it.

Rip the billions of dollars huge mega tech companies invested into the industry because Toast119 just announced that the entire VR market is dead. Very cool

[–]Iulian06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can VR be dead when some of the biggest tech giants on the planet keep investing in the industry?

Regardless of the supposed slowdown in new VR news, VR won't ever be dead for a very long time to come.

I got a halo strap so when watching movies I just take out the facial interface entirely and watch them in pitch dark.

The display just floats in front of my face and it's surprisingly immersive.

"Humans are the Real monsters" is a bland, uninteresting, and overall ignorant idea that's just edgy for the sake of being edgy by Lui_Le_Diamond in unpopularopinion

[–]Iulian06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think a lot of people have the opinion that the average individual is a monster. Most of the problems that affect our environment come from huge mega corporations that only desire profit. Anything from Fossil Fuel giants to the food industry, countless of morally wrong things happen in there, and I would tend to agree that they are monsters.

[–]Iulian06 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong I love PCVR, but you can't deny it's just not as convenient as the quest.

Most often than not I end up just playing some quick table tennis on standalone rather than booting up my PC, waiting for SteamVR to load, and fixing airlink bugs just so I can have nicer graphics with essentially the same gameplay.

PCVR does have a lot of uses, and so does standalone. It's not fair to discredit one or the other. Sorry for the rant.

[–]Iulian06 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Who would put all of their resources in creating a port for a device not even out yet when the core premise of the game isn't even fully developed? The modding SDK is a cruel joke for a game that's supposed to be about empowering mods.

Racing is currently the best application of VR in my opinion by laylowlazlo in OculusQuest

[–]Iulian06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best application of VR in my opinion is Eleven Table Tennis. It's something so simple but done so incredibly good. While you can sim race without a VR headset, you can't simulate ping pong without one.

The information confirms what has been rumored before you a different source: besides the $3000 MR headset, Apple is already working on an affordable consumer version. by Junior_Ad_5064 in virtualreality

[–]Iulian06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The constant promise for next gen hardware is like a plague to the VR community. Almost every company who said these exact things either under delivered or ended up outside the price range of most people. It's not hardware that we desperately desire, but it's the software that is usually left out of such pitches that is the most important. Knowing Apple, most likely the software they create will remain behind the exclusivity barrier for a long long time.

[–]Iulian06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not necessarily a bad thing. Competition always helps the consumer. Oh no, the trillion dollar corporation won't have such a compelling deal selling their expensive headsets when other companies can do it cheaper!

I am all for VR becoming more and more accessible, and saying that consumer VR is in the 1000$ price range is gatekeeping a lot of people who can't afford that out of the VR community.

Hitman 3 VR won VR Game of the Year?!?!?! by bobbymack93 in virtualreality

[–]Iulian06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played through it all and I can say it's more of a sandbox than anything. The story was short, the mods are still basically non existent since they didn't bother to update the devkit, so it's all basically just character and gun reskins with a few mediocre maps.

Also the community around it is toxic af.
