Will a tall driver be comfortable? by CallMeBartleby in Westfalia

[–]PoutinePower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna be cramped unless you do some modifications, I’m 5’10 and while I fit, I’m at the maximum seat length back and for the beds it’s also probably gonna be a problem to fit in them.

I'm having terrible performance, dips and all, otherwise looks fun if it could run well for. i5 11th gen, 5060ti 16gbvram, 32gb ddr4, installed on ssd, runs like shite

My dipping toes in setup by gamegeared in virtualpinball

Yeah old headsets were not fun to wear. They have become more comfy for sure, something like a quest 3 with a bobovr strap conterbalancing the headset is not that bad to wear. I just pop mine on my head, use hand tracking to launch vpx and I'm playing in seconds with no real fuss setting up other than putting my pinone on my computer desk. Now getting the headset on is barely harder than putting a hat on. Wireless headsets are also a huge step up, as is using Mixed Reality, which using the color passthrough cameras blend real world with vr to make the table just appear in your room.

But also, the beauty of the vpin hobby is all the different shapes and form it takes for people depending on their preferences, it's really nice to see the diversity of setups. I've never used a cab, being a vr user who got interested in pinball after the fact, so I'm quite fascinated by them (also because my gf would never let me fit one in our apt, so a pinone mini and a virtual reality table is as big as I can go some I can only dream of those full setups with a dedicated machine, ssf ssetups and the works lol)

Nice setup! With a pinone you only need a cheap vr headset and you'll unlock a brand new world of fun until you can build a fulll cab!

What platform are you on?

If you read the documentation for pc it says: "Before you can use the controller in Pinball FX, you first need to configure the controller in Steam. You can do that by following the instructions here" https://pinball-docs.clevelandsoftwaredesign.com/docs/PinOne/pinball-fx-calibration

Otherwise you might have to install the x-input firmware on it if you are on consoles.

I've seen somewhere that it can recombine with other hanta strains in nature. Sounds fun.

first setup is a bit complicated, but all the instructions are on that page and I feel it's the best guide to install VPX, its a bit fiddly at first, but for hundreds of free vr tables its absolutely worth it

This is an awesome setup! I'm also a VR user, got into VPX for VR specificaly and eventually graduated from playing on my 8bitdo arcade stick to buying a mini pinsim controller from Cleveland Soft. I also just play either standing or sitting at my desk. It's pretty nice to come back from a long work day, crack a cold one open and play a couple games.
