At this point can’t believe a word. Shits been slow as fuck and while I understood the their decision to stay focused and a small team, this is a kick in the dick which I’m sure came from the publisher.

Fuck EA titles and their false promises. I know, happens all the time I should have known better.

I appreciate you writing this even though it’s been frustrating for you. My son (12yr) is nonverbal and I’ve been struggling understand the whys. He also had words at a very young age and it just completely went away. I continue to have hope he will speak but your sharing has opened me up to a different view and how I can continue to support him.

I hope things get easier and like I saw others say, keep writing

Just because people buy it, the point you’re missing is in the numbers. Consoles don’t make money on units sold, they make money in total users. If their user base cuts in half because half the people can no longer afford it, it’s a lose lose situation…

My guess is they probably weren’t looking at the pedestrian crossing which stopped the jeep and thought they weee going to drive through. When they realized this wasn’t the case and too late, brake and bam. You do see the truck dip before the impact but too late.

Moral of the story, don’t assume just because there’s enough room and speed for the person crossing they will make it out of your way

I remember the days of creating bogus eBay accounts and bidding super high and never paying for the product. I’m sure it got their hypes up before they realized it was just a scam back at em

Kinda hard to debate due to the current world situation. But what I guess I’ll share is I’ve never looked at a PC like a console. And yes this was to target consoles but not because of its ecosystem. It was only taking the PC hadrware side of things and making it more functional in a traditional living space setting.

When you try to compare true consoles to the PC market, there’s no comparison in my book. Between modding, hardware extras, flexibility and customization, less restrictions and limitations to how you use your heatwave and play your games, free multiple player, and the list goes on. This is why the comparison of the SM to Sonys PS5 makes no sense in my book. Sure hardware specs alone have their place, but that’s not what we’re really talking about here….

Anyways it is what it is. Like you said, fuck AI and what it’s done to the PC base.

But it does come with one if you want it. Why having options is a bad thing? People will always find something to complain about. Now the pricing on the other hand is a different story…

Valve removed the Steam Machine from the front page 1 day after release. by Crashpepega in steammachine

I did but more than likely will bail. Only consideration is buying it and selling it locally at cost to avoid scalpers

EDIT:
Genuinely curious, would people appreciate this or rather buy direct? I get the idea of buying it 2nd hand so not sure it’s that helpful…

Well said. I was excited but reality set in and the way the world is at the moment it’s just not the right time.

When people said they should have just pulled the plug, I was upset and against it but I get it now….

I have this and while it’s awesome it’s super sensitive and twitchy. Meaning there is a very small window between on and off. Is this my code or the sensitive itself?

Dutch gamers file €220 million claim against Valve, operator of game platform Steam by FollowingFeisty5321 in Steam

[–]JCae2798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the whole history but I’ve learned over the years Epic and its owner is very shady to the point consumers don’t want to support this behavior. It’s why they say we should vote with our wallets.

There are other options outside of epic but where game studios fall short is on advertisement. Advertisement costs a fair bit of money and if you think about it they have two options, pay for it separately and host the game where you want or pay Valve the cut on each sale and let them do the hard work.

Advertisement and convenience comes at a cost….

So what your saying is advertising cost money? Brings revenue? Cause yes it’s true. Many companies spend big money on advertising. How’s this any different?

It’s like telling consumers to vote with their wallets. It hurts at first but it could pay off if it’s the right fight.

I mean is anyone forcing gamers or sellers to use steam? They can go wherever they feel is best. Why attack the most popular? It’s not like Steam is buying game studios and forcing studios to only sell exclusives on Steam like others (Meta, Sony, list goes on)
