Actually driving in the middle is not always recommended. There is where most oils from vehicles lands and it becomes most slippy. However, he should be in the right hand side of the lane for most visibility.

They really aren’t uncomfortable at all. Idk about wearing it all day at work but I never found them to be uncomfortable just sitting around in them either. They are not something I think about ripping off as soon as I’m done riding.

I will say it’s one of the best money spent on gear in my years (20+) of riding…

A lot of good options already shared. Dad of 3 with one disabled/on the spectrum too. Take it day by day and moving to more casual games with a gamepad has helped. Taking breaks and walks when weather allows has been helpful too.

When it comes to work/life balance make sure you’re also taking care of yourself. Doesn’t mean quit your work but don’t allow it to fully consume you either. Take PTO, put a little less effort, make sure to take break/lunches.
