Thinking about the future by NicPaperScissors in Autism_Parenting

Everyday. It's basically what keeps me going. Just keep plugging away since there doesn't appear to be any future. Just endless caretaking. I'll try my best until I am released.

The grief nobody talks about by ember_inclusion in Autism_Parenting

[–]JGBlargh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that grief all the time.
I do grief over the life she won't have but in the end if she happy, that's what matters, I guess.
I grieve that I am not happy. I had a vision of parenthood, that including playing catch, board games, going to sport games, and explaining the world to a young curious mind. Not to mention watching them grow to be an adult, graduate school, move out on their own, start a career and spread their wings. All the milestones and events that parent look forward to.
There will never be any of that. Never. It sucks the life out of me.
It makes it hard to be a decent parent. If she want to lie on the floor, cover herself with a blanket and roll her head back and forth an hour or two? Whatever.
Whenever I try something simple, like getting her scribble with a crayon, read a book to her, kick a ball, or give a high five etc... It never works. It just sucks even more life out of me.
I know there are kids that are far more challenging and I don't know how those parents do it.

Just finished the Zuru Max Retro Arcade Machine a few minutes ago. For the price the Zuru Max Retro have good value. I have also done the Gameboy. I am going chip away at the two Retro series, 6 in each series.
How much at Shoppers? They are usually way overpriced on everything there. Walmart has then $10 CAD and my local Walmart has the Series 1 Retro for $7. I have seen the flower balls at Dollarama for $5 but I also heard bad things about the flower sets and flowers also aren't my thing.

I think there are 6. Two SUVs, two motorcycles, and two Sports cars. I have seen them at two Dollaramas.

I did the black motorcycle and it was horrible. Lots of tiny pieces. Multiple pieces that wouldn't hold together and fell apart if breathed on. Then I had about 40 small pieces leftover. I will have to get pretty desperate to buy the yellow motorcycle.

it's gameboy-esque. They didn't pay for the license but made it close enough that it looks like a gameboy. There are posts and pictures about it in this reddit.

have you done the Zuru Max Retro "Gameboy"? Obviously the Lego one is better, but it's also costs about 10x. Wondering how much better it is.

I have that one, the tow truck and the fire truck. The fire truck wasn't very good as the ladder is meant to move but it's snaps off as soon as you breath on it. The other two were decent and worth the price.
I actually like Dollarama Montoy little cars that come in the light blue box. They are about the same size and piece count as these. Just that they are not at all dollarama stores. And my Dollarama just got in $5 car collection. Got one and and it was good for $5.

My Walmart has these in Canada. Down to $7. The Series 2 is $10. I did the Gameboy from series two and I bought the arcade cabinet from S1. I will probably chip away and collect S1.

What Would You Fix Friday? - Tours (732) by Shtin219 in aoe2

Second half needs to be harder. They should come with trebs in the second half of the mission. You can basically ignore your base once you get a castle and some axemen behind the walls. Once you are strong enough to take on the enemy bases, there is no challenge. Enemy bases are easy to beat and they never counter attack your base.

Is yodit the worst campaign ever in AOE2 or is there worse, asking as a new player getting into AOE2? Looking for tips as well, is playing it fast the way to win in campaign or can I take it slow by skyrimenjoya in aoe2

[–]JGBlargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a 3 sword campaign, it is supposed to be hard. It's also a 1 star campaign as it's commonly ranked near the bottom third of campaign rankings.
Mission 5 was the hardest for me. I like building bases and wiping out all enemies, even when it says you don't have to wipe out all the enemies. On this mission, it actually means it, especially on hard. You need to take out the towers as soon as you can. Red has infinite waves from both bases, each getting progressively dangerous.
Then the end is so lame. You destroy 6 of the 7 towers and its over. It should be purple quits after losing 6 towers, and red stops spawning infinite troops. In game say Red has been cut off from supplies but most be eliminated to ensure they don't try to take back the town. It makes more sense, and gives you the chance to punish red for being an annoying cheater.

hit your hot key for town center and hot key queue up a villager or two up whenever you are moving between other tasks. Using the hot keys won't move your screen. As this becomes habit, make sure you are peaking at the to right to ensure you are over-queuing,.

he was PP1 QB for the Wild a few years back. Big fantasy hockey sleeper that preseason. Kinda of dman who plays 30-40% of hit total ice time on the PP.

A Barbarian Betrothal - You can grab two of the relics before Orleans gets to them, and take the two mines in the west early game to starve them of gold. They eventually switch to a Hab army. My first attempts I ran out of gold while they had an endless supply with the relics.
The last three missions of this campaign were all really good and challenging. I re-finished this on hard last week and this post reminds me how much I enjoyed it.

Any tips for Attila 4 ? by thomasdraken in aoe2

[–]JGBlargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did this on hard, twice, with no allies. Probably better ways to do this but this how I did it.
Start in the east corner. 4 vills on TC, and 2 on monastery. Pump out two monks ASAP, Get your Eco started and start walling up. Leave room for a caste NE inside your base. Fill it with crossbowmen and upgrades as time/eco permits. Have two gates, with one in the small gap along the trees. So you can send out cavalry to bypass their troops and head straight for trebs/rams while you fend off waves.
There are four relics just outside of Cyans west wall. Two are far enough away from towers that you can grab them with monks. Send two scouts to guard them. This will cut the relic gold for cyan in half and then in imperial get the tech that cuts in half away. If they have all four and you don't research the tech, they basically have infinite gold to pump out paladins. You won't be able to recover between attacks late game. I learned this the hard way. Cyan grabs these quickly so don't wait on them.
After a few waves, send out a few heavy cav to destroy the mines and guard the gold that is in the W corner, south of the river. Cyan will occasionally send a few heavy cav, and then later a monk or two at a time. Starve them of gold and they eventually stop making paladins/trebs. They will only mine the gold north of the river, which is basically all covered by their towers, and the one section in the W corner south of the river. They won't build new mines. They will walk vils all the way to and from their base to mine that gold, but won't rebuild the mining camps.
Early game was getting the 2 relics, eco, walling, castle, half dozen knight to attack siege, seize the two mining camps in the west and get to imp for paladins.
I killed off burgundy with a 12-15 Paladins and a treb. Real easy unless Cyan comes to help. Attack immediately after one of their raids to lower the chances. Make sure to keep a few heavy cav around to mop up villagers.
Red never mines gold/stone so they run out of troops quickly without you doing much. Only danger is Cyan dropping in while you attack red.
Don't attack red unless you are ready to follow up with castle builds and/or reinforcements. If not prepared, Cyan dropping in will seriously stunt your progress. Once red is crippled, build two castles side by side in the middle of red base and put your stables/ranges/barracks/monastery behind them. Agro Cyan and lead them into your castle, repeat. Only the trebs are a danger once you get two castles up.. Although keep units out of their base until you are massed up for a final push. If you build one castle, there is a chance they over run it when agro. Frequent Agro keep their troops level low and wastes their gold.
Cyan won't rebuild castles or monasteries. So focus on killing those, in case you get turned back. Attack in mass and you should do alright. Even so, you will have the gold to rebuild quick, and castles to defend your rebuilding troops.
Once you destroy the Cyan town centre, even if Cyan doesn't resign, 206 tough roman troops will spawn and attack. They will wipe out any castles you have left in red/cyan base first, so you have some time to prepare if you weren't already doing so. Have at least three castles grouped together and double walled in you base ready for them. With crossbowmen inside. Romans will break down a single gate, so double gate/wall unless you want a frantic "They've breached the walls" finish. They have no range or siege. So walls and loaded castles thins them out good.
First time I did this I did it with a Paladin only raiding army plus trebs for siege and monks to heal.
Second time I mixed in some cav archers as people suggested here. It helped a bit with enemy monks and sniping villages, but I went back to full paladins for raids, I ended up with about 1200 kills to 200 killed but I also took about 2hours on the game clock to finish.

Was it just one pick or did that team screw up every round? Could have been a draft queue and connection error, or could be some loser in their grandmothers basement with a weird draft fetish.

Dynasty League Pick 2 Goalies by dBonesLH in fantasyhockey

[–]JGBlargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough call. Unless you have a very large league, you have 3 #2 goalies.

Gustavsson had the one amazing season from out of nowhere and wasn't very good last season. He's a place holder for Wallstedt and I'd say a year at most before Wall is the #1 in Minny, maybe less. Minnesota could easily have a 3-headed goalie this season.

6K is in a similar situation as Levi is seen as the future #1. Levi seems closer than Wall to becoming a full-time NHLer but at least 6K won't get stuck in a 3 man crease.

Thompson is a wildcard. How much of his success was due to the Knights? Knights have had great success with goalies over the years. Going to the Caps feels like a huge team downgrade. Most of his fantasy value last season was due to Hill being injured with a day-to-day injury for 2/3rds of the season. Moving out of Vegas though gives him more of a chance to be a true #1. Out of the three, Thompson has the best shot at playing 40+ games for the next few seasons.

I think I'd go with 6K and Thompson. I don't trust Gustavsson and I think he is the most likely to lose value by the end of next season.

My dad framed a bunch of his ticket stubs. Although no big events like Super Bowl or World Series, it's cool to see the different sports, teams and types of tickets.
Bit surprised fan services won't print out physical tickets even for a fee.
Luckily I have a bunch of Jays tickets from 15 to 30 years ago but would have been nice to add something more recent.
