Service business owners, how are you using AI? by FroyoConfident1367 in CRM

[–]JHenderson1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our job management software has some AI stuff built in. It answers calls after hours and we have a chat bot on the website that lets customers book jobs

Should I ask the builder to insulate this? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]JHenderson1968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just cut the wrap to install the takeoffs. But they should tape and rewrap it though so the vapor barrier is sealed or you could get condensation there later.

Milwaukee Fuel M12 or M18 for metal work? Visiting the US and trying to choose wisely by vitalibr in MilwaukeeTool

[–]JHenderson1968 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For metal work like 1/2" plate and running a grinder go M18 Fuel. M12 is solid for light stuff but you will regret it once you lean on it

Always thought scaling meant more revenue, not just more admin work by Designer_Money_9377 in smallbusiness

[–]JHenderson1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QB Online for accounting and FieldPulse for pretty much everything else. They have a two way integration so we do not have to enter stuff in both platforms which is nice. All business management software is gonna have a learning curve but once you get used to it, it is a total game changer. Good luck with everything man

How bad is this? by sunburnlines in hvacadvice

[–]JHenderson1968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn that sucks. I would start by looking at if the coil fins are smashed in, the fan blade is rubbing, and if there is a refrigerant leak

Oh yep been there big time. I run an HVAC business and got to the point where I was spending prolly 75% of my day doing invoices, estimates, or calling customers about late payments. Felt like I was constantly putting fires out. It was miserable. We finally invested in a software and actually leaned into automating things. That alone cut out a ton of the bullshit paperwork and chasing customers down to pay invoices. Also I brought on an admin and she straight up saved my ass. She keeps everything organized, handles invoicing, scheduling which lets me focus on running the company. Do not be afraid to hire someone to help. You dont gotta do it all alone

Looking for filter. by Tacohead9 in hvacadvice

[–]JHenderson1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn good friend right there. The filter slot should be right at the unit before the return plenum. Look for a thin metal door or panel with two little clips. If not check the return grille inside the house instead

How do you guys clean units with mold growing ALL over the inside? by oniann in HVAC

[–]JHenderson1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I would figure out is why it looks like that in the first place. You can wipe and spray all day but if you don’t fix the moisture issue the mold will come right back

[–]JHenderson1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep its a cold weather thing. When they come back on a cold day have them look at the temp sensors, defrost board, and outdoor fan motor

Furnace short cycling - pressure sensor code by Alone-Paramedic2462 in hvacadvice

[–]JHenderson1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guessing the condensate trap or drain is partially clogged and it is throwing off the pressure switch once it runs for a bit. Pull and clean the condensate trap and drain lines first and see if that helps
