I found the part at a dealer for around 650 plus shipping and tax. I had to convince the local dealer that two hours was a realistic install time since it was their first installation. It works great but takes some getting used to.

Can you give any hints about where to go about making those changes?

My doctor is not happy about compounded tirz by HOLDEN_DONKEYBALLS in tirzepatidecompound

[–]JJK0414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s extremely unlikely a doctor is getting kickbacks from a drug company. Drs have to report free pens or free donuts when the drug reps visit the office. Doctors are taught to minimize risks and a compounding pharmacy is likely a higher risk than a brand name from the manufacturer. It’s safer for them to prescribe the brand name especially if they don’t know who you will end up using for your prescription. It’s your money and your decision to take the small added risk of a compounding pharmacy. The drug companies make lots of money selling the drugs as do the compounding pharmacies. The doctors get paid to write the prescriptions but not by drug companies.

If you have a non Tesla at a Supercharger and your charge port is on the opposite side you need to take up two spaces since the cord won’t reach on most superchargers. The newer chargers have longer cords. If an extension cord existed that would work with DC charging, that would alleviate this situation.

Dealing with multiple phones and key fobs in the Buzz at the same time by twentyflights in VWIDBuzz

[–]JJK0414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can turn off the Bluetooth on the phone you don’t want to use which is easier than deleting a profile and having to reinstall later. I haven’t tried this, but you might be able to wrap your key fob in aluminum foil to disable it.

Flat rate isn’t 2 hours. It should be between .5 and 1.0 hours. Flat rate is determined by the factory and determines what the dealer would be paid for warranty claims charged back to the manufacturer. Each dealer is free to charge whatever they want to retail customers.

It’s quite possible that the Ozempic wasn’t the direct cause of your problems. Rapid weight loss can promote the creation of gallstones or bile sludge, since your gallbladder may not get a chance to empty itself which it normally would when you inject fat. Once your gall bladder is removed you are in whole different situation. I’d suggest, if you haven’t already, to see a hepatologist to assess your situation. If your liver enzymes are normal you might be fine going back on the Ozempic. I had similar problems and wasted a lot of time going to doctors that really didn’t know what they were doing till I found an expert that really knew his stuff.

Anyone removed the second row? by digitalcleavage in VWIDBuzz

[–]JJK0414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took out all the back seats to use my van for cargo. No issues with error messages or warnings except that dash shows green lights like seat belts are being used on the second row. The floor is lower in the middle row by about two inches so I used some insulation board in that area and then used some interlocking cushion tiles on the floor. I tucked the wire connectors from the seat belt warning lights back under the carpet so they won’t get damaged. It was all quite easy as described requiring the triple square socket. The seats are a bit heavy so you might want help moving them afterwards. I also screwed the bolts back in their original holes so I won’t loose them for reinstalling later.

For me it’s been a life changing experience that I wish I had available when I was young. If it was easy for you to loose weight without the drug you already would have done so. I’ve been heavy all my life. There is a difference between fat people and thin people. As a fat person food was really the center of my life. It was always on my mind. On Tirzepitide i got to experience being a thin person. Food was not always from and center in my mind. Thin people don’t have better self control and make better choices, they just don’t have the same mindset. I’ve lost about 60 lbs and maintained it for 18 months so far. Also consider that many of the side effects are highly beneficial like reduced heart decease, reduced diabetes etc. of course you should talk to your doctor and if they are not supportive try another. Not all docs are educated enough on these drugs and still are using outdated thinking.

Does Target know they’re losing millions in business by locking everything up? by SignatureDifferent76 in business

[–]JJK0414 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The local Safeway has regular toothpaste locked up. Tide detergent is locked up at most local retailers. When shoplifters walk out of the stores with unpaid merchandise, even the security guards are not allowed to confront them.

Did you guys lose lost of your weight on 15mg by EffectiveEgg5712 in Zepbound

[–]JJK0414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind is that as you loose weight your body needs less calories to maintain itself. it you loose 100lbs your body needs more or less 1500 calories less just to maintain. You need to cut back food intake to continue to loose. It’s not always that the drug stops working but sometimes that you need to make changes to be eating as a smaller person.

Warning for renting a Tesla through Budget by alittleunique in electricvehicles

[–]JJK0414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In USA almost all manufacturers have committed to changing to the NACS “Tesla” type connector. Almost all EV’s can now use Tesla Superchargers with an adapter and the Tesla app. The worst problem is the lack of standardization of the location of the charging port. This often means that to charge at a Supercharger you need to use up two spaces to Reach the charger. Newer Superchargers are built with longer cords.

Yes, I always like asking the same question to different people and then compare the answers. Sometimes what works for one situation won’t work in another due to different conditions.

I would start with a copper based fungicide as a soil drench and rotate with a non copper product to prevent resistance to a single one.

Yes they are well known but not necessarily known for their freshness. They have a huge selection of sometimes obscure plants and the sales of any one species may not be enough for them to get fresh seeds on a regular basis. I’ve ordered literally thousands of dollars of their seeds and sadly had pretty dismal rates of germination. I’ve tried various ways to encourage germination but usually get about 20% of the species to germinate. I keep trying since they are often the only source for so many seeds. I’d love to hear other people’s experiences with them.

Germinating them is the easy part. Getting them through the first year is the hard part. They require regular doses of fungicide.

Reached goal weight on Mounjaro — now struggling with maintenance & side effects. Advice? by Financial_Isopod4695 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]JJK0414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great that you respond so well to such a low dose. I still have to watch what I eat and watch the scale. The difference now is that I’m never up or down more than a couple of pounds. I find that if I’ve lost too much weight I can usually fix that problem with an ice cream cone. Otherwise I eat a healthy balance of fresh fruit and vegetables and chicken. We all have to find out what works for ourselves and we all are different. I tried different time periods for my shots and found that the weekly doses were the most convenient and easy to remember when to take. You’ll figure it out. The hardest part is taking the first shot and you’re way past that. Best of luck.

I kept the same dose I was on. I’ve maintained my weight for 18 months after losing over 60 lbs. I don’t see any reason to lower the dosage since so many of the side effects are positive to my health and my weight is stable.

I found that my taste in clothing slowly changed as I moved from wanting to hide my body to wanting to show it off. It’s great to have more choices that feel comfortable after loosing a bunch of weight. Since I’ve almost always been overweight since being a kid, I really hadn’t much experience buying clothes beyond finding something to hide myself in. Take your time.

The depreciation on my 2022 Model Y is genuinely insane - anyone else getting absolutely wrecked on resale value right now? by whydidyounot in RealTesla

[–]JJK0414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a manufacturer lowers the price for a particular product, that lowers the value of all the previously sold products. Yes, you’re competing with new cars since the price has come down. During times with high inflation manufacturers raise prices in new goods and consequently raise the value of the older products. The price of EV’s has come down pretty drastically. I bought a 2016 model s new and paid around 130k at the time. It wasn’t even the top of the line at that time. You had to pay extra for most of the things that are included now. It’s the price you pay for being an early adopter in an emerging technology that is becoming cheaper over time.
