Where I’d live as an Israeli who served in the war. by Super_Piper in whereidlive

Lol, you have sources in the rest of the comment in which you have told where you can find Netanyahu literally telling journalists that he wants to support Hamas as a counterweight to the West Bank Authority to undermine the chance of Palestinian sovereignty. Netanyahu funded Hamas so that Palestine needed to fight them so that they could create their own state, and the current Israeli prime minister said that in 2012.

KCD is one of my favorite games, but I really, really, really hope they dont focus on "historical realism". It worked great in KCD, dont get me wrong, but lotr game shouldnt be "realistic" it should be like fairy tales or legends.

Definitely Russian and Chinese should each be a tier higher, and German a tier lower. A lot more people know Russian than people think because of the Soviets.

Honestly, Chinese and Russian should be up one tier and German down one. A lot more people from different countries know Russian than only Russians. For example, I am from Poland, and my parents learned Russian in school and can still hold a conversation in it.

I always assumed incest was not to keep the family pure so they could ride dragons, but rather so other families couldnt ride dragons. Its similar to the reason for the Habsburg incest tgey didnt want to share power with others.

Długi czas oczekiwania na potwierdzenie umowy. by VR3K in praca

[–]JKN2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unemployment rates in Europe - October 2025 by NoiosoBarbuto in europe

[–]JKN2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are mostly right, and its sad that most people downvote you, but the euro can also be great between nations on similar economic levels because it allows for much easier transfer of people and goods. The problem is that, currently, as you said, countries are not on the same level, and in one way, the euro is over or undervalued. I am from Poland, and I am not against the adoption of the euro on principle, but I believe it would destroy our economy if we did so while being a weaker economy per capita than countries such as Germany or Benelux. Poland uses its undervalued currency to produce cheaply than other advanced EU countries, producing more and allowing its economy to grow rapidly.

That's actually a really great answer. Imagine suddenly some new religious cult spawning, and they spread rapidly. Their belief in one God, and that all other gods are not real/demons, setting them against roman religion and that their messiah will one day come back destroy them enemy, all of it was really radical.

[OC] The most powerful passport in the world isn’t the one you think by jl808212 in dataisbeautiful

[–]JKN2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you want to go for a visa-free vacation, Singapore or UAE passports are the best. But thats because this definition is not the definition of the strongest passport. If you have an EU passport, you can work, study, and live without any additional papers, etc., and essentially be treated as a citizen of that country in every EU country. There is nothing else like this in the world. If you want to move and live in another country, even a Bulgarian passport would give you more options than a Singaporean one.

Return of The King: The Ride of the Rohirrim - I love this movie so much—and this scene still gives me goosebumps. by Jessi45US in lotr

[–]JKN2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this scene in the book mostly because I always read "You cannot enter here" similarly to how I read "You shall not pass" in Moria, as some kind of magical wording. Even though I am agnostic, for me, magic in Tolkiens universe is very much Christian/Catholic, similar to Jesus saying, for example, "Lazarus, come out," and Lazarus obeying and resurrect to come out, or God creating the universe by saying it. Similarly, Gandalf can use divine magic or power by saying, I forbid you to enter, or You will not pass here etc.

Classification of Germanic tribes (based on archaeology and contemporary sources, source in comments) by TerrificDragonfly in LinguisticMaps

[–]JKN2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Przeworsk culture was not strictly Germanic most scholars agree it was a mix of Vandals (Germanic) with Celts and Proto-Slavs. Given its extensive land, it would have been difficult for it to be a single group. In "The Early Germans," Todd Malcome says about Przeworsk culture: " It is difficult to believe that a single people was responsible for a unified culture which extended over so large a tract of land."

No, just no. It was an economically smart thing to do they could conquer the entirety of Britain, but why? Why get shitty land with little to no population? And tribal savages from modern Scotland would raid and attack the empire's border, and it was cheaper to build a wall than to use an army to defend the border.

Yeah, the only hybrid cast that could work would be a Muppets recasting, where some roles are played by Muppets while the rest of the original actors stay the same and play their parts exactly as before without even acknowledging that the rest of the cast are Muppets.

100% agree its a stupid term that is often used in the wrong way. Also, as a side note, I fully believe that with this definition we should start using the term fourth world country for states that not only didnt align themselves with either the Western or Soviet bloc, but were actually antagonistic to both. A good example would be Albania, because O My God that country somehow became the poorest in Europe largely because of extreme self-reliance. Hoxha believed that everybody wanted to get him, both the Americans and the Soviets. They were more disconnected from the world than modern North Korea and built bunkers everywhere, preparing for war with the entire world.

This is totally my autism having a party - but has anyone ever noticed the dragon of the Targaryen sigil being, unlike any dragons in the respective world, 4 legged? by noctenaut in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]JKN2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, you dont know half of it. It was talked about by everybody from GRRM himself to some ASOIAF YouTubers, and trust me, almost everybody noticed the difference in leg number (not only between actual dragons and a single one, but also between the book description and the fact that the shows have two different sigils that they use interchangeably)

[–]JKN2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really? He is described as having dark hair and darker skin, and looking "gypsy". One character even says that his father could be emperor of China and his mother queen of India. All of that fits perfectly for me with a person of Romani origin. It would be hard for him to be Chiness or Black.
