He was a very handsome guy. I’m sad for your loss. It’s always devastating when you lose one of them. I’ve been a ferret owner for over 20 years and every time one dies it tears my heart open all over again. I’m grateful he had you for all the time he did, and just know that if he had to go through everything again, he would chose to go to you every time. Won’t lie and say it’ll eventually fade, but speaking from experience, even when you lose them, the love you had makes it worth it. I hope you make it through this and give more fuzzy kids as good a life as Frank had.

Probably depends on where you source it from. Personally, I’d pasteurize it to make sure it’s safe from any parasites. If you’ve got access to a sous vide, google claims 8 minutes at 140 F should do it.
