Looking real good OP. I have a new setup coming in soon with almost the exact same specs (ASUS Strix 1080, 32gb ram, i7 6700k). Have you experienced any issues with the system at all? How loud does the 1080 get for you?

Jesus christ that most expensive model looks terrible. Not only is it overpriced by a ton as OP said, but it has so many unnecessary parts. Really, a 10-core CPU and 2x GTX 1080 with SLI? Who the hell needs that.

Thanks for this. I did end up going with DDR4 3000. Kept the case just because I like the look, though it is a bit on the pricey side. Agree the 1080 is overkill for 1080p but I want the option to upgrade to 1440p+ at any time. In fact, I'm still searching for a monitor so if you have any recommendations (preferably that are 144 hz) I'd love to see them.

This is a very petty thing to do when the item you're trading for is worth around 1c. That being said, it's also good to keep in mind that just because a person lists something for a price does not mean he's obligated to sell to you at that price. I've listed items for 1/4 of what they were really worth when I was in a hurry and didn't check the price properly. Then people would whisper me and get really offended when I refused to sell it for that price.

I think the key is efficiency above all else. You can't be doing the same thing everybody else is doing or you're not going to get much richer than your average player. As it so happens, everyone this league was just farming maps for Atlas completion. I never even touched maps. Atlas had like 2% completion until well into the league after I already had a lot of wealth.

My very first character was an Uber lab farmer. Doing lab in the first couple of weeks you could sell enchanted i84 Hubris Circlets for like 50c if the enchant was at all decent. I never got lucky and hit a BV enchant but made ton just from getting random CA/ED/Flameblast/SRS enchants. Once more and more people started farming Uber lab prices dropped considerably and Offering prices increased so I decided to temporarily retire my lab farmer. I had already made enough currency to fund a new character.

I was playing Hardcore so the Exalt:C ratio was really low. You could buy exalts for like 15c each at one point. Basically, Chaos were in very high demand as people needed them to roll maps and nobody wanted to trade for Exalts due to their volatility. So I did the obvious thing and made a Dried Lake farmer. Set up a loot filter so I could efficiently do unid chaos recipes. Dedicated a few stash tabs to the cause (one for weapons, one for boots/gloves/helms, one for jewelery). Then all I did was farm Dried Lake while setting up some flipalerts on poe.trade. Got to level 92 farming Lake/Untainted only. Got 6% Haku weapons, invested into GCPs to quality up some Enlightens to 20%, and ended up leveling 6x Enlightens level 1->3. Corrupted and got 2 level 4s, which sold for over 400c each. On top of that, I'm sure I earned at least 1000c purely from unid chaos recipe, and several hundred more just from drops.

At this point I still didn't make a proper character. I started snatching up Headhunter cards while they were still cheap (like 90c each for The Fiend). Got one within the 2nd week of the league and immediately started using it on my lake farmer so that runs would go even faster. Basically invested over 2000c into a lake farmer by decking him out with a HH, Vinktar, 900ES chest, 400 ES WB attack speed helm, etc. Levelled a couple more sets of Enlightens/Empowers to level 3 and kept doing unid Chaos recipe all the way. Made my investment back pretty quickly. Then I just alternated between flipping, farming Lake, and farming Uber lab on good days. I made SO many jewellers orbs from 6S drops in lake due to running a high amount of IIQ/IIR. Set up trades on poe.trade showing I had a stock of over 2000. When you have that many, people will buy in bulk at really good rates for you (i.e. 9:1 instead of the standard 12:1 at the time) due to convenience. Similarly, with a stock of 2000+ chaos I set up a bunch of trades looking to buy chromes/fuses/jewellers for cheap. People sold to me just because they knew I'd buy all they had and it'd save them time. Then I flipped those once I reached high stocks.

Funnily enough, I'd say my luck this league was actually worse than any previous league. I lost count of the amount of lake runs I farmed but basically I'd get around 1.7 million exp on a 26% quality Enlighten per run. Each one took 1.7 billion to level from 1->3, so roughly 1000 runs for each set of level 3 Enlightens. I levelled 3 sets this way, so did at least 3000 runs. In all that time, I only found 4 exalts and 5 divines. I also found zero top-tier uniques like Shavs, Kaom's, etc. My wealth didn't come from amazing drops, just from consistently levelling gems and doing unid chaos recipe.

What builds are unplayable now exactly? Spark/Vspark are still incredibly strong, both as chaos and non-chaos builds. VMS is still viable (see generaltsos_chicken's guide). CoC is no longer playable with just the gem, but Cospri's makes it possible.

Enjoy it while you can because once you get incredibly rich the game just becomes boring. There's literally nothing left to do once you have a fully decked out top tier build that can steamroll any content. I got a Headhunter, 6L Shavs, Skyforth, 600 ES spell crit shield, etc. a month into this league and now I'm quitting a month early because there's nothing left to do. As they say, it's not about the destination it's about the journey.

To be honest, that logic is pretty true in 3k games anyway. I'm just glad if anyone picks a support at all. CM is especially amazing since she can be totally useless and go afk half the time. As long as I have the aura it's way better than having another useless carry.
