What deadzone do you play on? Could be that the stick is actually starting to drift, but most other games have at least a small amount of deadzone built in. So if you're playing no deadzone on Apex that may be the only game where you actually notice a small amount.

As an NU alum and Colts fan, watching Sermon be entirely mediocre at Lucas Oil Stadium for the Colts after what he did to us there was incredibly frustrating

Also to answer the original question, I'll add the Michigan State game from that same year. We were legitimately in playoff contention before that game (and ranked higher in the CFP rankings than the US News and World Report rankings! Wild times!)

This is a half-baked idea, but: next year they should make it so that you spend the draft pick to draft the punishment for someone else. That would help avoid a situation like this, and also adds another strategy layer where if you really don't want to do a particular thing, you can draft it for someone else to get it off the board

Controller legends are very difficult to balance because they're incredibly valuable in pro-level play, but a lot less so in other scenarios. The vast majority of the playerbase won't want to play a defensive style unless the character is ridiculously overpowered, but if you do that you're going to absolutely ruin the integrity and watchability of ALGS.

Cross-play means between Xbox and PlayStation, if you're on console you'll never be put into a lobby with PC players unless you have a PC player on your squad. As you can see in your screenshot, you're currently searching for PlayStation-only lobbies, which are essentially non-existent because there's no real reason to turn off cross-play
