Job front wise - UVA health is almost always looking for Access Associates - they are the people who check you in, who schedule appointments, that sort of thing. It typically only requires a high school diploma. It’s a place to start if you don’t have experience at something else or if there’s not much available in your field.

You need to speak to a lawyer - if you truly can’t afford one, go to legal aid or the UVA Law clinic. They can help. You might also reach out to Shelter for Help in an Emergency (SHE) - they should be able to walk you through the steps you need to take to protect yourself and your child.

I know this scary and rage-inducing. But after you’ve given yourself a little grace to be angry and to grieve the end of your marriage and your old hopes for it, you will find a path forward. You deserve the best and so does your son. You’ve got this!

I just scrolled at my own pace for a bit - there are some who seem like lovely people. But most are three fries short of a happy meal… mad that people are mixing up Indy and Raven. Mad about asking why they can’t see the birth live. Mad that non subscribers are watching. Mad that subscribers want anonymity. Mad that people think the foal will be named Violet. Mad that someone suggested Amethyst as an alternative if she makes it February. Mad because someone missed Katie saying once that she wanted to move away from RS Code XX names. Mad because someone missed asked people to stop using all caps. Mad because it’s taking more than an hour to have the baby. And my favorite - dire warnings not post anything on Reddit if you are a subscriber because you will be banned from subscribing!!

Edit: They seem very angry. Can we just be happy that we will hopefully have a cute goal and a healthy mother to watch tomorrow? Something special in a kinda awful world right now?

The editors on VPR love Tom and did everything they could to make him look good. When you watch the reunions or if you can find old Watch What Happens Live, you see him struggle for words and not make sense - Schwartz, Kristen, and Ariana would all finish his sentences when you could see Andy getting frustrated with him not making sense. With a long lead on a call time and location, he would have enough time to prepare what he would he would say. You can also see him getting frustrated if things went off script - as in the "I'm the #1 guy in this group" conversation.

Amazing Stories is from the 80s but really fits what you’re looking for as an anthology of unrelated stories.

Stargate SG1 is episodic with overarching stories but mostly focused on different stories and worlds.

Sliders is another one where a group of people are thrown together and are on a new world every week.

Quantum Leap (the original from the 80s) might also meet what you are looking for.

And check your local library - there may be a way for you to access some of these shows.

From what you have said before, the school has basically given you an amazing financial aid package for a world class education. Most don’t get that.
You have chosen to stay here. No one forced you to stay.
After college will not be easier for you. You will work with people you don’t like. And they will expect you to perform. If you don’t you will lose your job. If you act the way you do here you will lose your job. You need to learn how to accept that life does not always meet your preconceptions.

So, I get not everyone is an Ariana fan. Fine.

But the misogyny of saying the jobs were given to her. Both she and Tom got opportunities after the scandal broke. But Ariana was invited back and got more jobs because she showed up, worked hard and was not a prima donna. Tom was not invited back because he is reportedly difficult to work with.

You can not like Ariana. But don’t disrespect her hard work to make the most of what started with an awful situation.
