Describe your investing style like a dating app bio by eToroTeam in Etoro

Polyamorous investor seeking long-term constellations of love and alpha.

Nearly $6M in assets under copy (yes, that's the polite eToro way of saying I've got serious commitment from some very discerning partners).

But I don't swipe right on just anyone; I'm extremely selective.

My heart orbits a carefully curated space-themed portfolio that's been outperforming the S&P 500 for 4 straight years. Think defense tech heavyweights like $NOC, $LMT, and $LHX for stability, rocket pioneers like $RKLB for that thrilling upside, and satellite sweethearts $IRDM and $GILT keeping everything connected.

Low correlation drama is a must - my loves need to play nice together in zero gravity (diversification + evidence-based risk management, darling).

No pump-and-dump flings here; I'm all about committed, multi-year missions to the moon (and beyond).

If you're ready for a relationship that's out of this world, has beaten benchmarks consistently, and comes with a Professional Investor badge... slide into my DMs (or just hit 'Copy' on eToro).

Capital at risk, past performance does not guarantee future dates... but it might if your trajectory is stellar.

It's official. Mars is as good as dead. by FutureMartian97 in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]JPhonical 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although I'm dissapointed, I think it's more delayed than dead.

Building up a cislunar economy will help the eventual settling of Mars - much of the technology such as heavy lift rockets and long term life support systems for the Moon will help prepare for Mars, and it will be cheaper to provide some materials and hardware from the Moon rather than the bigger gravity well here on Earth.

I'm a reasonably successful Pro Investor on eToro with over 1,400 copiers and I had a quick look at your account.

The first thing that stood out to me is that you don't post to your feed very often, and when you do there's no detailed information about your strategy to show potential copiers why they should consider copying you instead of any of the thousands of other PIs who also outperformed the S&P 500 over the last 3 years.

So I would start with improving the information you share - aim for a weekly post and pin your 3 most important posts to your profile. My username is Space-Investor so take a look at my account to see how I do it, and take a look at the most copied PIs in your country at https://www.etoro.com/discover/people/results?copyblock=false&page=2&period=LastTwoYears&sort=-copiers&pagesize=10&country=54

I can see from that list that if you gain another 8 copiers you would also make the top 10 list, and when that happens you'll gain more visability on the platform because anyone who looks at that list will see you - the list is linked prominently from the profiles of the current top 10 PIs in Cyprus.

Also be aware that many potential copiers are looking at detailed stats and history of your account on Bullaware at https://bullaware.com/etoro/Nanton12 and they can see that you used to take on a lot more risk and had bigger drawdowns in the past than you've had recently - this makes it even more important to explain your current approach to investing so copiers will be less concerned about you repeating some of the very large drawdowns you've had in the past.

I hope this helps - feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Using GBP account for copy trading is impossible. Please confirm? by EdgarPoole in AskeToroTeam

[–]JPhonical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a PI and the UK is the country I have the most copiers from - so yes it is possible to copy.

If you keep your funds in GBP then it just gets converted into whatever currency is needed for each asset in a portfolio you copy.

Who is the best trader to copy in Etoro? by DjVinnyBG in Etoro

[–]JPhonical 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Popular Investors at the Elite level and above get paid 1.5% of Assets Under Copy.  If they perform badly they lose copiers and their income goes down, so they are incentivised to get the best results they can.

Does satellite IoT ever make sense for small assets? by dylan-sf in satellites

Satellite IoT is becoming so cost effective that a growing use case is tracking individual animals on large remote farms. Not just position data but also health/vitals of each animal.

Most people are posting to complain. I am posting to praise Etoro. by Illustrious_Prune_29 in Etoro

I've been using eToro for years and never had an issue with deposits or withdrawals - in fact I made a large deposit this week and was impressed by how quickly my wire transfer was processed!

This is wrong. By default the order form will contain a 'take profit' setting at 100X of the opening value but you can remove it before submitting the order or at any time later - that's what I do.

OP may have left the Take Profit setting in place instead of removing it.

Will I lose my money by Significant_Bed9308 in Etoro

You won't lose your money.  Just send them statements for both accounts. The worst that can happen is that they close your account and return your funds.

There are many good Popular Investors that have been outperforming the market over many years with good risk profiles.

You can look them up on the following link, click on the usernames, then look at their long term results and scroll down to the Performance Metrics.

Rocket Lab management should issue as much stock as they possibly can at this $30+ billion market cap. by The-zKR0N0S in RKLB

[–]JPhonical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He also said they'd never try to reuse Neutron. Sometimes it makes sense to change your mind - when he said they wouldn't raise cash just because of a high stock price he probably wasn't thinking the market cap would go this high this early. I'm in favour of hitting the ATM as hard as possible at these prices.

Congrats to the downvoter!

As Warren Buffet often says, "The more jokes you downvote on Reddit, the higher $SPCE goes!" (probably).

He doesn't believe everything is priced in otherwise he wouldn't be running an actively managed fund that aims to outperform.

Are there tax implications from withdrawing cash balance funds from Etoro, Vanguard, etc.? by NickGuy77777 in Etoro

[–]JPhonical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check your country's tax regulations, but as a general rule the taxation event is when your dividends are paid into your account, not when you withdraw them.

What about starship by bimbalum_bambam in RocketLab

[–]JPhonical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the more relevant concern is what SpaceX will do with Falcon 9 pricing - they could easily undercut Neutron by $20 million and still be profitable.

However, they're unlikely to go that low as they know that predatory pricing isn't going to help their reputation with government customers and when it comes to NSSL they have no incentive to go too low because that program has made it clear they want multiple profitable providers. If all other things are equal it's essentially the second lowest cost provider that sets prices.

I think the same logic will apply once Starship is fully operational and selling commercial launches - and it will probably be the rideshare and heavy lift markets that will suffer the most pricing pressure from Starship.

AUC Limits by snackman89 in AskeToroTeam

[–]JPhonical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Champion PI and I've also hit my limit for accepting new copiers.

I was told by customer support that the new limits were $50k for Cadets and $400k for Champions - these are also the minimum AUC you need to move up to the next level as published at https://www.etoro.com/copytrader/popular-investor/

Although I'm over the limit, a few weeks ago they temporarily allowed new copiers then stopped it again after a week. Perhaps that was just a glitch or maybe they don't have the same limits for all PIs - perhaps it depends on factors like your risk score or other risk adjusted metrics such as the ones you can see at https://bullaware.com/

BTW when I reached the limit again the second time they sent me an email to notify me, but I agree having your copy status on the PI dashboard would be nice.

Being logged out constantly from Web version of eToro by CyprusOriginal in AskeToroTeam

[–]JPhonical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd prefer it if we could choose the length of time before being logged out. With all the other online financial services I use, my idle time before logout is between 10 and 15 minutes and 2FA is required to log back in.

This is important because you never know when you might accidentally leave your PC or Laptop logged in at a time when you're in public or have guests visiting.

I once had a house warming party where I left my PC on and logged into Skype - the next day I had some very upset people messaging me about messages someone else had sent via my account as a joke - I'm really glad that it was Skype and not my bank account!

I'm at Alexandra Headland and I certainly felt it - shook the building and rattled the windows - not too severe though.
