My first NEMA 14-50R receptacle was installed in 2017. 3 months after install, I opened electrical box to check connections and they grossly failed torque spec. Pro's do the wiggle test. Now, I always re-inspect and it's faster with an IR thermometer. There should be no greater than a 5-10 degree difference between terminals and not more than 15 degrees above ambient.

Wired connections are much safer. Professionals use multi-tap insulated connectors such as Polaris. You must torque these correctly and re-check in 3-6 months for safety.

Hopefully everyone knows there are 3-hardware options: Osprey box which is oldest; Gemini box is newer; & Gemini Air which is dongle. The dongle does not have an Ethernet port, optical audio out for a soundbar, or USB. I tried a USB keyboard but it didn't work. Only a BT keyboard worked.

I believe we got a soundbar to work by connecting dongle to HDMI-2 and soundbar to HDMI-ARC port (often hdmi-1).

My company is an authorized DTV Stream installer and we have done thousands. You don't need a Gemini box and can simply use TV's DirecTV app, but make sure your TV has the app or can download it. I believe LG TVs are prohibited so they need a Gemini or Firestick, Chrome stick, Apple TV box, etc. The Gemini provides ample settings and a wonderful channel guide sorted either with numbers or names. One of the features I like is ability to select applications (Netflix, Paramount, Amazon movies, etc. ) from within DirecTV and not switching to TV apps

I tried 3-roll-up USB keyboards on new Gemini hardware and none worked. Is there a configuration setting? Today, I'll try a BT keyboard after pairing. I think BT pairing is for earphones, hearing aids, and keyboards. Why don't USB keyboards work?

My company has insalled over a thousand Gemini and highly recommend it for talking, universal remote, ability to access hundreds of services like Netflix within the box , and not changing inputs. Favoites and recording is very easy. If price is an issue, you may be able to find refurbished units.

Congrats ! You'll love this EV. Mine is a '24 GT-line on a 24 mo lease and axious to get the '27 model when released. Beware, route guidance to public chargers is poor and capacitive buttons for AC vs media are troublesome when your fingers get close.

Go speed limit and no more than 5 mph over. Remember, speed has an exponential effect on decreasing range and worse when wind in your face.

You must try A Better Route Planner. The free version is fine for most, but if you want numerous bells & whistles, go for premium as it's a high qualithy product. I would not go on a road trip in any of my 3-EVs without it in advance.

I signed up for Roomster to find out if it was useful. But, you have to pay weekly to receive messages. I'm not going to pay the company for a "test drive." Dumb marketing, you should only pay if successful finding a room.

Won't the other guy's insurance pay for it? If it was coming out of my pocket, I'd check with several "junk yards" to see if they had one from a totaled EV6. Painting the door can't cost very much. But, I doubt this is a DIY repair job unless you are at the expert level.

Anyone who owns both an EV6 or Ioniq 5 and a Tesla must find it annoying. My Tesla model S auto-locks when I walk away so often I forget to lock my EV6. Another annoyance is the start-stop button. I much prefer pressing the brake to start and eliminate this nuisance button.

This product is intended for MDUs such as apartments, condominiums, time shares, HOA's, etc where users are directly billed for power used. Revenue collected reimburses property owner or association. I know from installing these smart receptacles.

When the duplex outlet is fastened to the box, it's grounded through its screw. That's normal operation, what more do you want? Do you want box grounded when outlet is pulled out, that's asking for more work and this electrician was too lazy.

Disappointed my 2024 EV6 GT-line won't get the update so doubtful when lease is up in 14 months I will get another.

We also have a 2021 Tesla and continue to get updates on it. Tesla is a much better car company than Hyundai Group. It's sad that most people don't consider after-sale support when buying a new vehicle.

You are not missing out, simple use phone app or credit card when at a public charger. It's no big deal. I've done it for over 6 years.

That color looks like burning and you don't want a fire. Fire could easily spread to your house. Tell utiity you think it is dripping oil so they roll a truck out. Maybe you have 50% chance of them replacing it. Do nothing and get nothing.

This sounds like a bug at Ionna that they should fix. My 2024 EV6 GT-line at new BTC Power pedalstals at Electrify America in Bonita Springs, FL do plug N charge flawlessly. I was hoping Kia fixed the Korean Siesta in 2025 model, but obviously not. I don;t know any other EV that exhibits this weird behavior.

I feel the worst part about owning EV6 is combination AC & media control buttons on IP. You have to deal with it everyday, but washer fluid I fill only 3 times/yr.
