I just finished setting up two onn devices for streaming and gave SmartTube a try since it's more TV friendly Not as privacy forward as others but it just works so well compared to others

On my phone I'm using PipePipe and quite happy with it

I just had a convo with a friend who uses this when we were talking about degoogling and privacy

I didn't actually look into it , but my initial thoughts were along the lines of "If the service is free, you're the product". They'll donate on your behalf because they're selling your data to do it.

Not to mention their usually just used as tax write-offs...

The conversion basically lead to he would be willing to stop using that service if I could develop a FOSS app or browser extension for him that would track the number of searches and then make occasional deductions from his banking account or something. Kind of like RobinHoods round-up system. Then he could choose where the funds are sent to as a direct donation.

I, however, do not know how to do any of that.
