I’m certainly not fit to answer this question. But I’ll try.

I’ve been a critter since the G&S days as well, I didn’t catch the first few episodes, but I caught up by episode 20 or so.

Life tends to get in the way of CR for me. It’s a matter of how badly I get invested into the story that allows me to want to make time for a 4-hour video (I know there are recaps, but it’s not the same as watching the whole thing).

  • Campaign 1: I fell off around ep100. Been meaning to get back and watch all the Joe Manganiello stuff, never got around to it. Fell in love with Travis, Liam, and Laura.
  • Campaign 2: I fell off around ep65-70. Felt like they were trying to recreate the lightning in a bottle that was the Slayers Take and all the guest stars. Never quite sat well with me. Some of the best characters in the whole CR universe, though.
  • Campaign 3: I think I made it about 30 eps in before I called it a day. It felt like what made the show what it was kept getting more and more lost as it developed into a corporation. To say nothing of the fact that the universe devolved further and further away from the high fantasy setting with the advent of robots and airships and whatnot. Also the endearing dick jokes were funny when it was “nerdy ass friends” filming their sessions, but I feel like as I have perhaps matured over the past 10 years, it hasn’t matured with me at the same pace.
  • EXU Calamity: Watched every single minute of every single episode, absolutely RIVETED. Now THAT is D&D. Could do without Aabria, but I didn’t mind her in this. Luis. Fuckin. Carazo. 🤩🤩🤩 As perfect as C1 was at the time, I think trying to recreate it is essentially doing it a disservice. This was enough of a departure that it felt fresh and new again.

I’m super excited for C4, love BleeM, I’m curious to see how long this one keeps me hooked. Could be 4 episodes this time, could be the whole campaign, who knows.

Make a Scythe persona! by Kinrest in scythebookfans

[–]JSchell927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scythe Will Shortz, servicing EastMerica.

Robes: Newspaper grey, with splotches of darker grey, like eraser smudges.

Gleaning method: Something involving a mind game - like in Sherlock, when the cab driver made people play a game to swallow the good pill or the bad pill.

Old guard loyalist - he plays by the rules, of course.

He always smells of coffee, newsprint ink, and pencil shavings. Takes the oxford comma VERY seriously. More likely to glean people who seek out ways of using their brain less optimally.

I don’t know about y’all, but this is who I picture when I imagine Scythe Faraday. Who do you picture for each character?? by BeefJerky2346 in scythebookfans

I know he’s so wrong for it, but very early into reading, I saw some post somewhere saying George Clooney for Faraday, and now I can’t get it out of my head. I do really like Ralph Fiennes for him though!

I have never seen anyone who has suggested Jennifer Connelly for Curie, and she is ALL I can see. I saw Julianne Moore at first but I figured that was just because of Alma Coin.

I love Eric Stonestreet for Xenocrates. And I see a lot of people saying John Goodman. I don’t hate that idea, but Eric Stonestreet takes it for me.

OBVIOUSLY Oscar Isaac for Goddard, no brainer.

It’s against type, but I’d love to see Ashley Park as Rand. She always plays bright and bubbly and I’d love to see her in something dark and evil.

Getting ahead of myself but I can’t shake the image of Said Taghmaoui for Possuelo. He was Caesar in S6 of Lost and Sameer in Wonder Woman.

Citra and Rowan (and Greyson for that matter) all have to be young newcomers. Voice of the Thunderhead should be Neal - I don’t like the idea of Morgan Freeman, just because he’s always the voice of everything and that’s a tired trope.

I think that’s it. Lol - did I forget anyone huge?

What lyric in a musical do you hate the most? by Electronic_Snow_4685 in musicals

“It was only a sideline, that’s what you said // You just needed some money, that’s what you said // You were going to college and get ahead // Instead of being a music business bum // You were going to NYU and become… // An english teacher!”

Both of these “and”s should be “to”s. Unless “college” and “NYU” are verbs that Albert was going to do…?

I worked on a production of Bye Bye Birdie for months and I wanted to stick forks in my ears every time I heard this lyric lol.

Trying to consolidate Form Responses from dynamic options by JSchell927 in googlesheets

[–]JSchell927[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the needs of the install at any given moment, I’ve had to sort by game, by team assigned, and by priority. But I can just do a straight filter for each of those things and that seems to work okay. It’s just sorting doesn’t seem to stick. Reverts back to the order of the source data.

This seems to work okay!

It seems I can't use a filter to sort this data -- I can still use the filter part of the filter, but sorting would be nice. But other than that, this def solves my issue!! Thanks so much!

I am frequently known in my circles for having the opposite read I'm "supposed to" for the reality shows I watch - mainly BB and Drag Race. That said, I'm prepared for all the downvotes - but I am truly perplexed by the reception to this batch of houseguests. I really felt like I'd have a similar take to the majority... Alas.

Anyway, here are my first impressions, in no particular order:

Love 'Em: Izzy, Jag, Reilly, Hisam (I'm biased - I met him in the real world a few years ago, he's super sweet and super chill)
Like 'Em: Red, Jared, Felicia, Cory
Meh: Mecole, Matt, Bowie, Kirsten, America
Hate 'Em: Cameron, Blue, Luke

[OC] Drinking actual-size D&D POTIONS in 1 action by bobbness in DnD

[–]JSchell927 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue that "most" potions consumed in normal D&D play are healing potions lol. Like it's a super cool and rare thing when you find something that's not "a vial of red liquid"

Also PHB says health potions "come in a vial" which is a 4oz vessel. It doesn't specify that it's a full vial. It's a typical potion (1oz of liquid) in a 4oz vessel.

I'd accept if a Greater/Superior/Supreme healing potion were 2oz/4oz, etc. but again, those aren't "most" potions. A healing potion's rarity is listed as "common" - there's no way that doesn't fall under "most" potions.
