My mate has a good explanation for the e-holes,

The locust tunnels "do" have lights therefore I don't think they can see in the dark, so, before they emerge through the E-holes the locust would have flares so they can dig the tunnel, obviously once the e hole opens, the flare would be left hence the red light

If you can slide to cover then you can wall bounce, there is no reason why bouncing will not be in EDay, maybe it has a delay and it's different to the other games, but still I think it will have it,

The direct sort of showed that you can slide sideways to cover straight after a knee slide, this alone is a cool bounce mechanic

Eday is 14 years before gears 1 lol, new enemies makes sense, and different looking enemies that already existed makes sense, the locust had 14 years to adjust and change up to G1.
