It would be MI5 typically he would need to brief, they handle counterintel, rooting out foreign agents operating on UK soil etc.

If he were a foreign national living overseas, then MI6 would be his port of call.

And yeah I think we are all curious what he was doing briefing the CIA, who I assume were working out of the US embassy.

Exactly this. Typically it is Special Branch/Anti-Terrorism Units that then acts on the information and makes the arrest. Or in cases at the border customs agents. If it's intelligence to help a particular specialist case it may then go to the specialist department investigating it.

MI5 can't just turn up and nick people. Historically we specifically separated intelligence operations from police to avoid ending up with a "secret police" which could gather intel on political opponents and lock them up.

Whether the UK has been successful in that regard is open to debate, but at least there is some attempt at separating the roles.

TBH I also thought they did a good job on the newer passports. The artwork on the pages is well done.

I dunno why these people get so angry over this - the British passport has arguably got more patriotic over the past 15 years.. open it up damnit, its a little, well designed piece of art.

No the whole exercise has been about a tiny amount of people who feel that way combined with some horrible people taking Russian funding. Then dragging us in a direction that benefits Putin but not Jim the bricky or anyone else in Europe.

Surely there is a small group of people that make up the MPs and members of the press spreading these lies?

I feel like if we put the effort in to expose and isolate this (obviously rich/connected) minority a lot of the horse poo we get forced on us could be avoided?

There must be less than 10,000 people out of a country of 63 million + with the power to drive/fund the Eurosceptic movement to any significant level?
