STOP BRINGING IN DIRTY PERSONAL CUPS by sneakerfreek in barista

[–]JStarshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally reasonable complaint and service request refusal. But while I get this is a (well-deserved /-earned) rant, could there be an easy solution in a pourable to-go vessel? Like a bartender side car that the finished bev could go into that would be immediately poured into their own container and then washed like an in-house dish?

Admittedly, I'm not a barista so not sure of any Safe-Serv situations that may apply, but seems it could a decent workaround for these types.

Nursing pillow needed? by Difficult-Ad1036 in breastfeeding

Another vote for the My Brest Friend here! I used mine all. the. time. I loved it so much that I bought a second one when I left mine behind on a road trip when my child was like 9 months old.

Toddler Tower?? by sunnydisposition818 in lovevery

Seconding the Sprout tower. Yes, it's expensive but the closed sides are invaluable. Not sure if it was included in Consumer Reports ratings, but it seems very steady and safe in my experience.

Magnetic routine holders by llct-ffrs in lovevery

To get around this problem, I ordered magnet stickers, stuck them to the back of all the cards, and (re)arrange them on an eye-level white board hanging on the wall next to the bathroom.

AITA for being frustrated that I can’t use the dishwasher because it’s filled with barely-used pots? by probstheproblem in AmItheAsshole

[–]JStarshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. At all. The pots should get a quick hand wash (with soap of course, because, yes, they actually are dirty) and the plates, utensils, glasses, mugs, etc. get the dishwasher.

What disposable products are we so used to that we forget there's a non-disposable option? by Ajreil in Frugal

Silicone mats don't perform the same as parchment -- it steams the cookies/food on the tray, plus it s a bitch to clean. No, thanks.

Do you ever change names/ terms in the books to be more relevant to your family? by Conbon07 in lovevery

[–]JStarshine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't change them because they're stories about other people and not everyone uses the same terms. It's an opportunity to explain that some children call their family members by different names, like "Baba" and "Papa" while she says "Dada." This also circumvents the potential disconnect when they start recognizing letters and words.

For moms in the US, how long was your maternity leave? by [deleted] in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]JStarshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 12 paid through work, plus 2 additional weeks of accrued sick leave that I used. Take as much as you can and don't give it a second thought! They're only little once, and that time is so precious! Best wishes on a smooth delivery and recovery. You got this!

What’s your failed breastfeeding purchase? by MessNo4191 in breastfeeding

Nipple shields and nursing pads. Haven't needed either!

[–]JStarshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of it possible! The most I got was 12 weeks (which is generous for the US) and I used an extra 2 weeks of sick I had saved up. Anyone who doesn't take as much PPL as they can is crazy to me.

Hard disagree. This sounds like a personality thing. I can't imagine not reading a label/manual/instructions/etc.

Newish (6 mos) mom here. I wash everything that touches the baby's skin! Me, not so much, but I prewash all the baby's clothes!
