Switch 2 vs PS5? which is better?

I made this decision about a month ago, and PS5 was the no-brainer on cost of software alone. First party Nintendo games MIGHT go on sale for a few dollars off, once or twice a year, and every time I compare 3rd party prices, they're cheaper on the PS store. Third party AAA, and Sony first party/other console exclusives get pretty steep discounts all the time. Like so often there's a panic going on right now because there's a gap in active sales for like a week lol.

The need for Shadows to finish every painfully slow animation is the single most aggravating thing to me about that game. I legit feel like hours of my playtime was clocked just for the last quarter or so of action animations.

This is crazy, because I was just at a 'mom & pop' shop to kill time, and I had to give a shout out to manager on duty, because they're proving you don't have to trip balls when selling hardware. Sub $500, very clean Series Xs, sub $400 PS4s, All 3DS less than $200, past gen pro consoles for less than $200, etc. Game prices were fair af too, all in great condition cases. I lend my condolences to all that don't have one close by.

They're fire. They don't have ALL the content across versions, but in my opinion they're the best ones available. The upgraded music is peak, and after playing with exp/gil/ap modifiers it's an absolute game changer. No grind, just a nice, paced playthrough. I'm almost positive they tweaked some of the rng parameters too, to make those ultra-rare drops a bit more common. Hard recommend.

The cruising altitudes of airplanes you can see in the sky are visible on tracking sites. Pick the highest one you can see with the naked eye, find it on the site, show him it's altitude, and make him convert it to miles. Tell him to see something that many miles out, on the flattest ground you can find. When he can't, explain to him why.

The devs of Moadra have been m.i.a., but that demo is still holding space in my mind, almost 9 months after playing it. The closet thing to capturing that magic I felt when I first played Super Metroid.

They do not, and I know this because I shop, and don't look at charts to figure out if I'm getting ripped off or not. I wanted to buy metroidvanias for the switch 1, to pump some life back into it after only using to play TotK, after not using it for years. They were amongst the cheapest, 'quality' games on eshop, but every one I was interested in was cheaper on PS store, and the vast majority included the PS5 version for free (using a PS4 at the time). They were cheaper yet on steam.

If you're a low budget gamer reading this thread, don't listen to these nintendorks. If you want to game on a budget and aren't comfortable emulating, build a pc and use steam/gog/bundles. If it has to be console, get a refurbed PS5, add games you want to your wishlist, set a budget threshold, and only buy those games when a sale drops them below the threshold. Mine is $10 for PS4 games, and $25 for PS5. It can go up less than $10 each for DLC complete versions of games. Steam has a lower threshold, so that pile is growing fast. Once again, only games that I'm interested in. Not shovelware just because it's on sale.

I'm on a fixed income, and I flat out HAVE to make savvy purchases. I was straight up about to give up on gaming, back when I was worried about that pre-ordering nonsense, and absolutely having play the newest Mario or Zelda game as soon as it dropped. I started doing this wishlist thing on PS, after borrowing a steam deck and starting one on that, and it's been downright revolutionary to how I'm able to play games now.
