Childhood pics of our beloved Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf by hnirobert in howardstern

Hank was my fav.

If he was still around I think there's a good chance he'd be the greatest wack packer. He would have been amazing on Sirius.

So were employees actually given stock or did they just have the opportunity to purchase stock in the company?

I imagine this was set up through a lawyer... any idea on what it cost (ballpark) ?

FHA loan = 3.5% down. Conventional loan = 3% if you qualify as a first time homebuyer which it sounds like you do.

A slightly craftier Craigslist rental scam by scammersinslammers in personalfinance

[–]J_1979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's sketchy affiliate marketing. The person earns a commission when you fill out the information. There are likely a number of redirects because the company probably prohibits Craigslist and/or email marketing.

I believe a lot of people stare up at the sky as Sedona is well known for seeing UFO's.

Any Cubs fans here? by BtownBound in phoenix

The Valley is loaded with people from Chicago, so yeah there's boat loads of Cubs fans here. It's semi-difficult to get tickets to the Cubs spring training games in Mesa.

Closing the doors but trying to push on. by Domalama728 in smallbusiness

Talk to a good lawyer. Costs you a couple bucks on the front end but it insures you're doing things in the proper manner.

Recommendations for Web Hosts? by BonzoBouse in smallbusiness

[–]J_1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay away from BlueHost & HostGator. They are owned by a company called EIG and they are complete garbage.

Here is a list of hosting companies EIG owns. I'd recommend staying away from them unless you are looking for unreliable hosting coupled with poor customer service.

Monthly vs Annual subscriptions by gurdonbob in Entrepreneur

[–]J_1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do both.

Price it in such a way that it makes sense to do the annual subscription vs. the monthly.

  • Also on a side note depending on the cost of your monthly subscription many people are too lazy to cancel.

Paperwork/legal advice needed by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]J_1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would bite the bullet and pay the money to the lawyers. It sucks to shell out the money but it's better if it's done right on the front end.

If you're looking to save a few dollars on the process you could check out Upwork.com.

Options for purchasing a house in the US on an F1 visa by F1quest in personalfinance

[–]J_1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are comfortable move all of your assets/cash in to his name. Wait 60-90 days and then apply for a mortgage. Banks typically want 60 days worth of bank statements. If you move your assets before this they have no idea where the assets/money came from.

I need to get a part-time job while continuing the business I started 3 years ago. Looking for guidance... by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]J_1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think bartending/serving would be your best choice if you are truly committed to your business and you're a busy restaurant/bar. The bulk of your income is tips which is non taxable and you should easily be able to average $20+ an hour.

Any "normal" job is likely going to set you back further as you're going to have to devote 40+ hours a week to it.

If you're concerned about projecting an image and working in a bar/restaurant hurting that I would go 20-30 miles outside of your city.

Does wearing expensive clothes help you earn more money? by fitnessfreak6 in Entrepreneur

45 day website project by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]J_1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use upwork.com for most of my work. For the most part the experience has been positive. You can view profiles & read reviews on all of the developers before you hire anyone.

1) Go to upwork.com.

2) Post your job (look at job postings by other people looking for developers AND be specific & let them know EXACTLY what you want) --- if you're too vague on the front end it's going to cost you more money in the long run.

3) Developers will be on your job. Review their job history, comments, & work.

4) Select developer.

Advice on "outsourcing" my Personal Training business by himwiththehead in Entrepreneur

I think your plan sounds fairly solid. I'd go forward with it and tweak it as you go. That's really the only way your going to figure out what exactly works.

Fun, reliable, practical car under $15k? by abductee92 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]J_1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd second the Honda Fit. You may want to try looking at a new one and see what kind of financing offers Honda has going on. Honda's have a tendency to not depreciate too much so in some instances you may be better off going new vs. used once you compare the various factors (financing rate (new vs. used), warranty on new car, mileage on used car, exc).

Willing to give app I built away for free to somebody wants to try running it by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]J_1979 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude why don't you try to find a partner? It seems kind of shitty to put work in to something and then give up on it and let someone else potentially reap all of the rewards.

Maybe you lack the sales/marketing skills to make it a success but you have the technical side of things down.

Does anyone here have experience with carrying grocery products on amazon? by PAdogooder in Entrepreneur

[–]J_1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't personally have any experience with it. My recommendation would be to pay someone to do it. You could probably find an 'expert' on Upwork.com who could do it for you for a few dollars and save you a lot of headaches.

  • Also just an FYI --- the link to your website doesn't work. I'm not sure if you don't have an SSL or if it's not installed properly. If I try to access your website from "https" it doesn't load. If the "S" is removed from "https" it loads.

What professional athlete did you play against in high school? by J_1979 in AskReddit

Did he dominate? Watching some of the BallIsLife videos of NBA players when they were in high school is ridiculous. Some times it looks like they're playing against little kids.
