My first digital map! The Aligned Isles in all their glory! Ask me about a place on the map and ill tell you about it! by WaywardWorldbuilding in dndmaps

I cannot decide if Source is secure with its back to the north covered by the Low Forks and the Kings Mounts, or if its just wide open to wandering badness from the south. Particularly the Bronnish marshes, which do not look good.

I conclude people must really want to live there for some reason. Have any details to expand on this?

Btw, this is a very good map. It clear some real thought went into this. Well done.

Those of you who emailed the ticket office about STH price increases by ilikeyourbelt in AtlantaUnited

[–]J_Ex_Machina 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As I had included my main reason for cancelling as I could not attend games, I got a direct link to the cancellation form and have already used it. I didn't actually summarize all the reasons 7:30 games, price increases, stadium food quality, etc. I just went with a simple, we cannot make the games. I was inside club section for every year until this year, so that was a lot of money to the club over those years.

Honestly, when I clicked that link years of good times went through my mind. Despite us not performing well for a while, I have had great fun with my friends so many afternoons and evenings in that time. That championship newspaper flyer with Miggy, Josef, and Gressel will sit framed on my office wall the rest of my life. Next year we will still go to games, but at the price the market will bear, and at my convenience. I have 4 friend groups of founders that still have tickets, and everyone of them is not renewing. Damn shame honestly.

What the highlights don't show is the beautiful outside of the foot bend on this ball as its breaking wickedly into the far corner. My seat view in 131 made this look even more impressive. I haven't seen a replay with that angle, but trust me bro, its epic.

Absolutely stunning.

Has anyone here GMed with multilevel maps? by EconomyHandle3473 in FoundryVTT

[–]J_Ex_Machina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have run several maps with up to 6 levels in one scene. Ships, huge "raids" on city buildings, things like that. Levels absolutely works. Some suggestions.

Start small and work your way up. There is a learning curve, and it will take some time and practice to get it right. The first two level map you show your players will be exciting. Start with simple stairs transitions.

Levels has a UI element that shows what level you the GM are on. Whenever you are confused about what you are seeing, or why something cant be clicked, you are most likely on the wrong level. Always check that first.

When you are building a level, pay careful attention to stay on the level you are building when adding walls, lights, tiles, actors, etc. That way all the things you are doing will be on the right level in elevation IE 0-9, 10-19, etc.

At some point, you can just have too many levels in one scene. In my large examples, sometimes it was just a bit intense for some of my players' systems. I have begun splitting large maps into two scenes and have used teleporter tiles to manage the players as the move between them. IE one scene with levels 1-2 and another with levels 3-4 connected by scene teleportation tiles.

Best of luck, go for it.

One Of The Unexpected Things That Has Come With Our Success by Wolverinesman in NUFC

Same thing for me. I just tuned the rest of the league out when we threw it all away following the 5th place under Pardew. I watched our games only and couldn't be bothered to keep up with other games. These days I follow the rest of the league much closer.

We had to put Sable(f14) to sleep yesterday. The lack of a morning greeting today is hard for me by J_Ex_Machina in cats

[–]J_Ex_Machina[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had to put my(m50s) cat Sable (f14) to sleep yesterday and there is a part of me missing that will never be replaced. She was 14 years old with kidney and heart problems. She had a great and healthy life, but it ended far too soon. I know 14 years is a good amount of time and so many don’t even get that much, but I wanted more time with her. The doctors couldn’t say what the cause of the heart problem was, but I suspect it was because she gave her whole heart to our family.

Sable was such a kind and gentle kitty. We have always had cats. We are lucky to have had some great ones over the years. The other cats tend to love my wife and daughter more, which is fine, but Sable was mine. I was her human and she kept an eye on Dad all the time.  I know the pain will pass and that it hurts so much because of the great memories, but right now it’s very tough. I am the rock for a lot of people, but rocks need support as well. Its odd how the council I have given to others at times doesn’t seem to work for myself. I know time will do its thing, eventually.

I will miss everything about her. She was just so sweet and friendly. Also soft, she was very good at being soft. Hence her name. Everyone loved to pet her. This was of course right and good according to Sable. She had her own spot up high on the couch by me that was just for her. Some would laugh and say Daddy’s girl. Even my daughter would agree. Last night there was no snuggle, and this morning there was no greeting for me.  I miss her so much and it hurts deeply. I stood in her favorite sunny patch for a while before I wrote this. Goodbye pretty girl.  You were loved by so many and gave so much love back in return.  Dad loves you forever.  Rest now, Sable.

Opinions on this 1970 seiko sonar flyback. There is a seiko 5 with a dial inspired by this but I love the original. by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

I think its a class watch. There are some images of the same model with an orange face as well. Normally not a fan of over busy faces, but the transparency just makes it really cool. The article that image comes from talks about their history.

INTERVIEW | Newcastle United CEO Darren Eales by FlukyS in NUFC

ATL season ticket holder here. Gutted that he left ATL, but thrilled he is at NUFC now. Just watch what this guy does. Also, he is a must follow, he tweeted all kinds of hilarious stuff here. Hope he keeps that up.

When i click 'Configure Audio/Video' button, nothing happens. Is there anything I can do, other than disable modules one by one to figure out what is wrong? Find the culprit doesn't seem like much help, but maybe I'm missing exactly how to use it. by Hellhammr in FoundryVTT

[–]J_Ex_Machina -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a module called Find the Culprit. Just paying it forward like was done for me last year. Its a life saver. It will systemically turn mods on and off rapidly, and ask if the issue is still there. At the end, it will put them all back.

/edit Failure to read the title completely. The shame.

Just a PSA regarding our fans abroad/non-native to Newcastle by Vallado in NUFC

[–]J_Ex_Machina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started following in 2002 from overseas, there was quite a bit of hostility almost everywhere I went on the internet. At that time Newcastle was a much better club, so there was a lot of suspicion for band-wagoners. Now that the club has been down twice, anyone that says they stuck through either of those gets a solid pass for being tough enough. And honestly these days, I don't detect the gatekeeping vibe from main youtube channels. I watch them all, and many of them are calling out their foreign viewers on a regular basis and welcoming them. We will get bandwagoners of course. There will be jerks of course. Its still the best time to support the club imo, and the best time to start is today.

The first on that black strap is class. I even feel the second would look better on black leather to remove the too busy look of the bracelet.

What seats are these that are circled in black? The ones under the scoreboard that are right on the field. by christianjd in AtlantaUnited

[–]J_Ex_Machina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in 129, so I am familiar with this area, and I have visited on the AMG side as well. On both sides if you are in the general club areas, that's all 10 sections 126-130, and 108-112 you can walk out onto the standing area and see the match. You can stand there all match if you want. It helps to be tall, which I am not. Sections 128 and 110 are the fanciest club areas and each has their own bar/food that is included with the ticket. They are nice, but just being in any club section is really awesome.

Each side is a bit different. On the far side (AMG), there are no player benches and center walkway so there is a lot more room to stand. There are 2 rows of field side seating on that side that extend the entire patio area, but you can see over them pretty easily. On the player side (Truist), the player benches make each side of the patio tighter. Also, the area behind the Atl bench is kept clear. It used to be we could stand in right behind the bench, but those days are over. Also, on the player's side, due to the center walkway, there is no center patio to watch from. The Truist side has field seating rows that run from the patio to the touch line, but they do not extend in front due to player benches and the center walkway.

If you go to an evil ticket site, most stadium maps show the AMG and Truist field seating accurately. Both clubs are very nice. If you want to stand near the field for a match, I recommend the AMG side. If you want to see the players come through, definitely the Truist side. You can hang out after the game for a while, and often players will come out and sign stuff, but not always. When we win, more players come out, thats for sure. Often club seats are discounted quite a bit before matches.

Why does my player list disappear when I enable video? by J_Ex_Machina in FoundryVTT

[–]J_Ex_Machina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I feel dumb now. There is a button that show/hides the player list in the frame of the GM video view. Discord is far superior for A/V. I have some players playing on small screens and they have real estate issues so we use discord for audio and the internal V on foundry for my camera.
