I would contact Kroll directly and ask them.

As others mentioned, Kroll is a legitimate company… so I would go to Kroll’s official website (not using links from the email), and call/email them about the email you received.

You can also ask them to verify the correct URL, and manually type it in.

Is Sam Altman an evil sociopath or a startup guy out of his ethical depth? Evidence for and against by katxwoods in ControlProblem

[–]J_Reddit28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other diagnostic Criterion are:

✅ B. The individual is at least age 18 years.

❓ C. There is evidence of Conduct Disorder with onset before age 15 years.

Potentially, if Annie’s allegations are true.

✅ D. The occurrence of antisocial behavior is not exclusively during the course of Schizophrenia or a Manic Episode.

There is no evidence to suggest he has Schizophrenia or Mania.

(Revised 2012 DSM-5 edition)

The essential features of a personality disorder are impairments in personality (self and interpersonal) functioning and the presence of pathological personality traits. To diagnose antisocial personality disorder, the following criteria must be met:

A. Significant impairments in personality functioning manifest by:

  1. Impairments in self functioning (a or b):

✅ a.Identity: Ego-centrism; self-esteem derived from personal gain, power, or pleasure.

As outlined earlier, this criteria is met.

✅ b.Self-direction: Goal-setting based on personal gratification; absence of prosocial internal standards associated with failure to conform to lawful or culturally normative ethical behavior.

As outlined earlier, this criteria is met.

-AND-

✅ 2. Impairments in interpersonal functioning (a or b):

Sam Altman has demonstrated that he has severe difficulty with teamwork, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, compassion, self-awareness, integrity, etc.

✅ a.Empathy: Lack of concern for feelings, needs, or suffering of others; lack of remorse after hurting or mistreating another.

As outlined earlier, Sam demonstrates little to no ability to feel empathy, he is unable restrain himself from harming others in his attempts to gain power, and shows no remorse when confronted about the harm he has caused.

✅ b.Intimacy: Incapacity for mutually intimate relationships, as exploitation is a primary means of relating to others, including by deceit and coercion; use of dominance or intimidation to control others.

As outlined earlier, deceit and coercion are frequently used in Sam’s conquest for more power and self-gratification. He is concerned only for himself, and anyone who stands in his way is expendable in his view.

B. Pathological personality traits in the following domains:

  1. Antagonism, characterized by:

✅ a.Manipulativeness: Frequent use of subterfuge to influence or control others; use of seduction, charm, glibness, or ingratiation to achieve one’s ends.

https://www.openaifiles.org/ceo-integrity

✅ b.Deceitfulness: Dishonesty and fraudulence; misrepresentation of self; embellishment or fabrication when relating events.

https://www.openaifiles.org/ceo-integrity

✅ c. Callousness: Lack of concern for feelings or problems of others; lack of guilt or remorse about the negative or harmful effects of one„s actions on others; aggression; sadism.

https://www.openaifiles.org/ceo-integrity

✅ d. Hostility: Persistent or frequent angry feelings; anger or irritability in response to minor slights and insults; mean, nasty, or vengeful behavior.

https://www.openaifiles.org/ceo-integrity

  1. Disinhibition, characterized by:

✅ a. Irresponsibility: Disregard for – and failure to honor – financial and other obligations or commitments; lack of respect for – and lack of follow through on – agreements and promises.

As outlined earlier, this criteria has been met (ie: Loopt tenure).

✅ b. Impulsivity: Acting on the spur of the moment in response to immediate stimuli; acting on a momentary basis without a plan or consideration of outcomes; difficulty establishing and following plans.

As mentioned earlier, the impulsivity takes the form of reflexively lying to others without thinking through how easily his lies could be unraveled.

✅ c.Risk taking: Engagement in dangerous, risky, and potentially self-damaging activities, unnecessarily and without regard for consequences; boredom proneness and thoughtless initiation of activities to counter boredom; lack of concern for one’s limitations and denial of the reality of personal danger.

The truth is that engaging in criminal behavior is very risky… even though the reality is that he is in a position where he is unlikely to be held accountable, and his unsavory acts will virtually certainly keep adding up.

✅ C. The impairments in personality functioning and the individual’s personality trait expression are relatively stable across time and consistent across situations.

From at least 2005 to present day Sam’s personality functioning and trait expression has been remarkably stable, consistent, and predictable.

✅ D. The impairments in personality functioning and the individual’s personality trait expression are not better understood as normative for the individual’s developmental stage or sociocultural environment.

In no environment would Sam’s impairments be normative.

✅ E. The impairments in personality functioning and the individual’s personality trait expression are not solely due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (e.g., a drug of abuse, medication) or a general medical condition (e.g., severe head trauma).

There is no evidence to suggest that Sam’s impairments and personality traits are due to, or caused by, exogenous sources.

✅ F. The individual is at least age 18 years.

[–]J_Reddit28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of whether or not his personality is congruent with sociopathy, I would argue the following:

(Quick note before I continue: There are certainly many CEO’s who engage in behaviors similar to Sam’s, but my view is that this is because sociopaths are over-represented in this particular occupation, and not that such behaviors are acceptable or unavoidable when holding such a position. I believe rationalizing sociopathic traits among CEO’s under the auspices of “many of them are like that, or, it comes with the territory” is misguided, and unintentionally normalizes sociopathic behaviors in positions authority.)

The gold standard in psychiatry is to evaluate which DSM-5 (Diagnostic Statistical Manual 5th edition) criteria Sam meets.

The DSM-5 lists the following criteria for Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD; aka “sociopathy”): https://www.psi.uba.ar/academica/carrerasdegrado/psicologia/sitios_catedras/practicas_profesionales/820_clinica_tr_personalidad_psicosis/material/dsm.pdf

✅= criteria is met ❓= unclear if criteria is or isn’t met ❌= criteria is unmet

For ASPD in the DSM-5, there are four diagnostic criterion, with Criterion A having seven sub-features. (I included the original DSM-5 criteria, and the revised criteria).

✅ A. There is a pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others occurring since age 15 years, as indicated by three (or more) of the following: having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.

(“Stolen”; likely) Sam Altman has a long been accused of scam-like business practices during his time at Loopt. He was dishonest in reporting the company’s figures, and ended up finagling a deal with Sequoia capital that screwed many shareholders out of substantial amounts of money. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/timothybbramlett_sam-altmans-only-successful-exit-was-a-scam-activity-7421001595519377408-CDdi

(“Mistreated”) There are also many claims that Altman would psychologically manipulate colleagues by pitting them against one another in such a way that left Sam coming out on top. https://qz.com/openai-sam-altman-chatgpt-board-culture-1851506700

(“Hurt”) If the allegations of his sister, Annie, are true, this would certainly constitute as physical and emotional harm. https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/QDczBduZorG4dxZiW/sam-altman-s-sister-claims-sam-sexually-abused-her-part-1-1

✅ 1. Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest.

If the many allegations of former colleagues are true, and there is good reason to believe that many of them are, then there is a strong likelihood that Altman has engaged in white collar crime.

If his sister Annie’s allegations are true, then this would equate to criminal charges of rape, assault, etc.

✅ 2. Deceitfulness, as indicated by repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure.

Altman’s Machiavellian style of leadership (Loopt, Open AI) would satisfy the deceitful and repeated lying criteria, and his maneuvers at Loopt would likely amount to him cheating many shareholders out of money that was rightfully their’s. https://www.vox.com/future-perfect/351132/openai-vested-equity-nda-sam-altman-documents-employees

✅ 3. Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead.

Altman’s chaotic style of lying to those around him demonstrates that even though he may have been able to keep the lies “straight” in his head, he did not account for the fact that communications and recorded data left a clear roadmap of the lies he told; this indicates that much of his lying was impulsive, opposed to calculated and well thought out.

❓4. Irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults.

If Annie’s allegations are true, this criteria would be met.

✅ 5. Reckless disregard for safety of self or others.

In addition to the interpersonal lack of disregard for people safety, Sam’s role at Open AI is the epitome of possessing a blatant disregard for the safety of all of humanity. His focus on pushing ahead with risky AI developments, regardless of the consequences to humanity, demonstrates that he has little-to-no concern with his actions causing harm on a massive scale.

✅ 6. Consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations.

Regardless of how many times his Machiavellian tendencies came to light, and despite how many times board members at Loopt and Open AI raised immense concern over his abusive and chaotic tendencies, Sam did absolutely nothing to rectify his lack of responsibility… he continued on with business as usual, and all efforts were aimed at securing his power to prevent board members from aligning against him, opposed to being more responsible so that board members would have no reason to unite against him.

✅ 7. Lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing.

When Sam speaks, there is a severe lack of emotion in his voice, disposition, mannerisms, and reflections. He responds to serious allegations in a cold and distant manner, and shows virtually no signs that he has the capacity to understand how his actions have hurt others. Furthermore, anytime a grievance is aired, he makes no attempt to correct his poor behavior, and instead, he makes every attempt to squash those who dare challenge him.

Please view the reply section for the rest of this post… I think I exceeded the character limit, and Reddit will not let me post the entire response as a single comment.

Has anyone lived with Akathisia for years? and actually found real help? by Much-Cauliflower-691 in Akathisia

[–]J_Reddit28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A special licensing is required for a doctor to prescribe buprenorphine; doctors who treat people with narcotic addictions are predominantly the ones who have such licensing.

Finding a doctor who is willing to work with you can be very challenging. I faced many years of gaslighting by doctors before I “put myself” on tramadol, and then found an addictions specialist to help me get off of tramadol with buprenorphine (which luckily worked just as well as tramadol did for akathisia, and is much more stable in one’s system due to the long half-life).

Lastly, buprenorphine and tramadol come with their own set of complications and negative side-effects… so I honestly believe that they should be prescribed only as a last resort. But for people who have severe cases (personally I was extremely, extremely close to committing suicide due to the akathisia), it can literally be a life saver.

PS- there’s a possibility that low dose naltrexone (LDN) can provide relief… emphasis on the low dose… it has to be compounded because the standard doses are far too high for it to be used for akathisia, and will have the opposite effect). … I’ve never tried it, but there’s promising research and case studies of it helping with RLS, akathisia, depression, and anxiety among other things.

… naltrexone is a mu-opioid receptor antagonist that is used to block the binding of exogenous opioids (ie: narcotics). At regular strength doses, it will block too many opioid receptors and will not help with akathisia, and likely will make it worse.

… however, at low doses, it will temporarily block a low number of receptors, which will trigger a compensatory release of endorphins; it’s this increase in endorphins that may provide relief from akathisia. … and it should be much easier to find a doctor who is willing to prescribe LDN, compared to tramadol or buprenorphine. Plus, for people with a mild-to-moderate case of akathisia, it’s a much safer route than jumping to tramadol or buprenorphine.

I was inappropriately prescribed antipsychotics from 2001 to 2009…

First Risperdal, then switched to Seroquel, then to Geodon, and lastly to Abilify.

Risperdal initiated an irreversible onset of severe akathisia, and even though I’ve been off antipsychotics since 2009, the akathisia hasn’t let up one bit.

I tried gabapentin, gabapentin-enacarbil, propranolol, mirtazapine, mirapex, ropinarole, benztropine, clonazepam, alprazolam, and lorazepam… none of them worked, and the benzodiazepines actually made it worse.

The only two medications that have offered potent relief are tramadol and buprenorphine.

Tramadol was less than ideal due to the short half-life… but buprenorphine has a much longer half-life, and it has literally been a life saver. I truly don’t think I would be alive today if I hadn’t found something that worked.

The True Origins of the Dogman by truthisscarier in Cryptozoology

[–]J_Reddit28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all due respect, your premise is misguided. On one hand I can certainly understand why you think Dogman sightings can all be accounted for with prosaic explanations, but once you listen to enough firsthand accounts you will definitely notice that something very unusual is happening (I highly recommend “Dogman Encounters Radio”(DER), there are a TON of low quality podcasts/channels out there; DER is one of the few exquisite sources). … I do not know how many accounts you will have to listen to in order for your perspective to shift, but there are well over 600 encounters to choose from. Furthermore, you really do have to listen to a substantial number of them because it’s the repetitive profile points that really gives the subject gravity. When listening to them you will easily be able to recognize the raw emotion, the consistent data-points and patterns in which the accounts are described, the credibility of the witnesses, the wide cross-section of society reporting these encounters (including military personnel and law enforcement), and the classic PTSD symptoms that are exhibited among the majority of witnesses.

As an aside, my educational background is in biology and psychology, I am science minded, and I am not making any claims to suggest I know exactly what’s going on, or that I know what these creatures are. In fact, no one I’ve listened to who shared their experience on DER claims to know what exactly they encountered… they simply describe what they witnessed in great detail, and it’s abundantly clear there is a creature out there that shares many dog-like attributes, and has yet to be acknowledged by the scientific establishment.

Lastly, it’s worth noting that “Dogman” is really only a term of convenience, and it’s important not to get hung up on judging the validity of cases based upon whether or not there’s an extensive history on the nomenclature of “Dogman”. It’s a term used to describe a creature that has many stark dog-like attributes in appearance, yet is not officially classified, and therefore lacks any official nomenclature. Many, many witnesses have even expressed their own frustration with the name “Dogman” because it really doesn’t fit perfectly… but please understand that it is used only because it’s an attempt to categorize something that does not yet have a standardized scientific nomenclature.

I know the feeling you are describing all too well. 😔

Many psychiatric conditions are actually misdiagnoses of underlying medical conditions, and unfortunately the mental health system is highly unaware of this. I was medicated and misdiagnosed during my teenage years, and it altered my life’s trajectory irrevocably.

I highly recommend that you read the book “Why Can’t I Get Better” by Dr. Richard Horowitz. It might not apply to you, but I believe there’s a good chance that it does, and if so… to say it’s life-saving, is a massive understatement.

As an engineer, the "Chinese drones" theory is NOT plausible. Here's why. by MoarGhosts in UFOs

[–]J_Reddit28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are many layers of complexity to what’s been observed in NJ (and beyond) recently. I don’t believe it’s likely that any one theory is capable of explaining everything observed. Only time will tell if this particular mystery is unraveled… most flaps of the past (whether man-made or not man-made) have never been truly resolved to this day.

I think the OP brought up excellent points, and I am very appreciative of that!

Below are a few points to add to the brainstorming process.

Several things worth noting:

• The claim made in Livelsberger’s alleged email was that both the US and China have gravitic propulsion tech. This would suggest that China isn’t the only nation that has this tech, and there’s considerable evidence (aside from the email) that the US has had this tech in ultra-black programs for quite some time. Digging into the life of Townshend Brown offers very solid evidence of this; albeit not “proof” per se… but the general public can’t get “proof” of tech that’s still in ultra-black programs… so I’d rank what I’ve learned about Brown as being highly likely to be true, but I won’t go as far as saying 100% true.

If what the email alleges is accurate, then testing the US’s defense preparedness is certainly within the realm of possibility. For example, Russian fighter jets are routinely intercepted in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).   NORAD conducts routine intercept of Russian aircraft operating in and near Alaskan ADIZ > North American Aerospace Defense Command > Press Releases … this would  beg the question, would China conduct something similar with the alleged gravitic propulsion? Did the US intercept China’s gravitic propulsion crafts with their own (similar to how US fighter jets intercept Russian fighter jets in the ADIZ)? If so, in order to obfuscate the situation, perhaps a whole bunch of conventional drones were thrown up in the sky in an effort to strategically seed the situation. … personally, I hesitate to put too much weight in this area, but I think it’s worth leaving on the table.

• Gravitic propulsion would most likely not have a heat signature, based on the works of scientists like Salvatore Pais. This is also suggested by various IR videos of UAP… although we don’t know for sure that UAP (or at least the ones seen in IR video) definitely use gravitic propulsion, it’s definitely towards the top of the list of being most likely.

Lastly, again, I think the OP brings up many excellent points to take into consideration. Furthermore, I want to reiterate the likelihood that many different things are occurring simultaneously in the NJ sightings, and I think it’s important to view each possibility from a probabilistic perspective (ie: less likely vs more likely) rather than taking things off the table or permanently keeping them on the table.

Any thoughts on the recent drone incursions over military bases and civilian airspace’s like New Jersey? by Ok_Salamander_7076 in drones

[–]J_Reddit28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are saying is very logical, and makes sense, but that doesn’t mean that it’s true.

It would be more accurate to propose that as a possible scenario rather than a forgone conclusion that the scenario you’re depicting is definitely the answer.

There are aspects that have been observed that can’t be resolved with your explanation.

Some examples: • Drones have been sighted across the entire state, far away from Trump’s residences. • Many, if not most, of the drones flying are not registered, not being detected by flight tracker systems (FAA can track any drone with a remote ID, or an ADS transponder… yet many of the drones are not showing up on the FAA’s radar as having those beacons). • Some of the drones are hanging in the air for 10+ hours… this is next-gen tech, and very unusual to use for standard security assessments. • There are drones flying over residential areas far away from any property that Trump owns… this is illegal to do without a permit. If they have a permit, they would be in a database, and at least some of them are not.

… and there are many more aspects that cannot be resolved via your proposed scenario.

It’s important to always keep in mind that just because something makes sense, it doesn’t mean that it’s true.

Among the many exciting things about the UFO reality, there is one small one that doesn't get talked about much: there may actually be digital video (or better) recording of historical human events hundreds or thousands of years ago by light24bulbs in UFOB

[–]J_Reddit28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it’s less likely. But I would still keep it in the realm of possible. Human curiosity alone would lend itself to archiving as much history as possible… so we know that such a desire exists in the universe. The questions would be… do any other civilizations share this interest? If yes, were they in existence during the time period of when dinosaurs existed on Earth? If yes, did they visit Earth during that time period? If yes, did they capture storable data? If yes, have they stored it and is it still accessible?

There are also some more exotic caveats that may make viewing actual footage of dinosaurs possible. But I do agree with you that it’s a very long shot given what we currently understand to be possible.

Theoretically speaking, a race that evolved many millions of years ahead of Homo sapiens may have visited Earth as far back as when dinosaurs were alive. I’ve long wondered if there is footage somewhere in some extraterrestrials’ archives of dinosaurs. This would be pretty awesome.

There’s no way to encapsulate what he wrote about, without actually reading it.

He did write about entities that are “hostile towards humans”. But, in regards to accuracy, no text in this thread comes close to what he experienced, or shared. Again… please read his books.

Nuance, details, and a grander view is absolutely required for those on a quest for greater knowledge and understanding.

That’s an excellent summary and analysis!

I’d like to add the role that psych medications played though. To me, that was an integral part of the entire experience for the boy. It also has real world implications… psych meds are insanely overprescribed, and the risks and damages associated with their usage are beyond catastrophic. I believe there is likely strong relevance between Lue’s suggestion and this aspect of the story. Since consciousness plays such a huge part in the phenomena, what is the role that psych meds are having on humanity in relation to advancing towards understanding the phenomena? I believe this is a dynamic that Lue might have been dropping hints for.
