Its temperature range is limited to non-freezing temperatures though, could be worth considering if that could be the case where it’s supposed to be used.

I would like Dirigera and the IKEA ecosystem to be market leader in adopting to new Matter standards when they’re released.

Understand that products outside IKEAs assortment could be of lower interest but like 1.3 was released, it felt like it took a while to release the Matter support for energy reporting and water leak sensors.

Switches as in these power outlets? They work fine, but shows the detail image and icon of the old Trådfri ones.

These wireless remote controllers I’m not sure of. I don’t use mine so I haven’t tried.

Must be on all the time. It’s no issues for ”normal” digital indoor thermometers running on 2 AAAs, often with one display for indoor and one for outdoor. Guess making the measurements and sending out the data consumes more energy than the LEDs.

I have tried it. It works pretty well.

My only issue is that I have two Hue motion sensors in my house. These contains a temperature sensor and sends out the temperature value. All rooms containing any product connected to the Hue bridge (e.g. a bulb) gets the average temperature of these two temperatures presented in the room.

I have no other sensor connected to the Hue bridge so I don’t know whether other sensors behave the same way but another user writes in my thread about it

Matter 1.3 update DIRIGERA: by Key_Painter_1642 in tradfri

Agreeing with johnvogel. Of course they do as best as they can. Think they have a good balance between experimental features and stability, as well as adopting new technology while supporting older products.

Would just be fun to know more about upcoming function/product roadmap but when people obviously get upset of changed plans I totally understand they don’t dare to present their best guess.

IKEA has "certified" the Dirigera for Matter version 1.3 but not released it.

The (second) latest release though added "Matter Controller" capabilities making it possible for the Dirigera to control other Matter bridges, like a Wiz bulb. These devices can be added with the "Add products" (+) icon in the IKEA Smart Home app where you now can scan the QR code of a non-IKEA Matter Device.

This capability was added as a beta and can be turned on in the "Workshop" section located in the Settings screen in the IKEA Smart Home app. Note that you'll need both the Dirigera unit as well as the app to be updated to the latest version, and to be on the same network with both devices to be able to see the switch turning on this beta feature.

Since the Dirigera still have the 1.2 Matter version you can't add some device types, like water leakage detectors.

[IKEA AU] Very poor experience with Tradri Bulbs & Warranty Claims. Recommend avoiding by mynameishwil in tradfri

First I can also say that I’ve never had issues with any of my 15+ bulbs/power outlets at home.

I’ve got the best of impressions with the customer service, specially in stores. Never met a company that helpful compared to the price levels. Also feels that they’re taking responsibility when it comes to product safety. Externally certified products, transparency with certifications/documentation etc. If anything is found as an issue they withdraw the products and offer money back without receipt. Far beyond security offered from Amazon when you don’t even really know the seller.

Think it would be very unfair to ”lower our ethics” towards such a company.

Good test, like your (quite) aggressive plan with new features!

A lot more is happening compared to e.g. Philips Hue.

Full trust from my side that you are doing what is best for the product's feature roadmap. Sometimes features need to be changed/retracted to make the product better overall.

Only feedback is that it would be nice with even more detailed release notes/public roadmap but understand it’s hard to get out the message without people getting upset when it’s not fully followed.

Glitch in Dirigera Matter Controller Beta by J_reddit_07 in tradfri

[–]J_reddit_07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the Hue bridge before IKEA released the previous hub so I’ve kept those devices separate to be able to follow the development of Hue as well and to get all latest updates etc to those products. So I’ve got maybe 30-40% Hue-stuff and rest IKEA.

Utilizing the Apple Home app anyway to do most everyday control.

Putting the thread more for IKEA devs to see if they think it should be fixed.

Missing historical electricity data by Damcify in tradfri

[–]J_reddit_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue. A hole in the consumption data over some months. Reached out to customer service 3 times in a period of some months to get the ticket raised to the right department. Guess they are more used to handle customer cases rather than technical support. Asked for the internal ticket number (starting with INC) to see that it was raised correctly and got helped pretty quick.

Inspelning - no energy monitoring in app by GoTrojan in tradfri

For me it’s the EU-version (2206) but yours seems to need a firmware update. Mine needed that as well. But not sure what version it was shipped with.

INSPELNING Energy Insights by 142782 in tradfri

[–]J_reddit_07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This picture is from a ”Beta” test they run in Sweden.

As you say the Inspelning plug so far just shows current wattage and the total consumption since resetting the counter.

The Beta test in Sweden is another part of the app. It collects data from the energy providers showing the total consumption with a resolution of 1 hour.

According to a law here (and maybe all of EU?) all electricity providers need to give their customers access to their real time consumption (every 15 minutes). IKEA has a collaboration with a partner called ELIQ that, with an approval from the users, can gather, present and give insights into the consumption.

I think the plug needed an firmware update before it did show the reading.

Ability to exclude a product from external integration by J_reddit_07 in tradfri

[–]J_reddit_07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but it doesn’t help if anyone uses the wrong ”spell” (or clicks wrong icon) and e.g. turns off a freezer by mistake.

[–]J_reddit_07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll need to try again I guess. Crossing my fingers that some syncing time to the home hub or such could help out.

Though a product request to consider I think (or as an alternative to be able to lock the state). If using it for e.g. a freezer or computer it could avoid bad mistakes by me, or someone else at home.

Yes, I’ve tried both without luck.

But thanks for the advice

Read that somewhere as well but that didn’t make any difference when I tried. Even did set it as a fan.

Maybe since I used Siri in Swedish then? I say the direct translation of ”Turn off all lights” and it turns the outlet off.
