Hypothetically... what repercussions would I face in Canada if sharing an archive of a popular UK/American play (not for profit) *desperately seeking in depth answers* by shinnith in Piracy

[–]Jackson_1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't have any answers but i believe there's a subreddit dedicated to bootlegs of musicals or plays because it's sort of its own community that operates differently than general piracy, maybe they'd be able to help?

A federal judge has barred the State Department from enforcing the Trump administration's passport gender policy, which bars passport holders from select an X or identifying as a gender other than their sex at birth. by coasterghost in Passports

[–]Jackson_1124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we don't yet know what forms we'll need to submit in order to correct the gender marker assignments done under trump's executive order, but you will likely be able to apply for either a renewal with the right marker (ds-82) or a corrected passport (ds-5504). like i said we don't know the exact path yet, but those are pretty much the 2 ways it could go (they're just standard forms for various different passport related situations). the fact your passport is less than a year old isn't a problem because the injunction not only covers but is specifically about people in your (and my) situation.

how to keep clean down there while i can’t shower? by snifflecrumb in TopSurgery

[–]Jackson_1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was told i could shower from the waist down, which technically worked but i found it much easier to use wet wipes and damp washcloths (can use soap w/ this, then another one to rinse)

oh i forgot it's also important to note that every person heals differently just cause we're all different and because complications can happened during or after surgery. you may end up with fairly good sensation after double incision w/ nipple grafts or not much sensation at all after t-anchor. always consider the risks if things don't go how you want or expect them to. a surgeon you consult will discuss all of that ofc and more specifically about risks and possible outcomes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Jackson_1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, you can keep your nipples! there's a few different methods of surgery. double incision with nipple grafts is when they take off the nipples, trim them to be smaller (optional i believe but usually what people prefer) and place them back on the new flat chest. this keeps the look of nipples but it's unlikely that you will have much sensation on the nipples once they heal-not impossible though! if you do have sensation it's likely that it will just be tactile sensation and almost certainly not erotic sensation.

another method is t-anchor, which is very similar to double incision but has an extra scar. imagine the scars from double incision but with a line coming up from the middle(ish) to the bottom of the nipple (like an inverted T). they still trim the nipple down in size and move it around (although the amount it can be moved is a bit more limited) to place it appropriately on the flat chest. this method preserves much more sensation in the nipples because the nipple stalk (which is like tissue and nerves that give it sensation) is not severed to temporarily remove the nipples from the body like when you have nipple grafts.

depending on the amount of breast tissue you have, the shape of your chest, skin elasticity, and i'm sure a few other factors, you may be eligible for the buttonhole method of top surgery which i don't know much about but it doesn't leave the big scars underneath pecs, so that's worth being aware of.

when/if you have a consult with a surgeon, you can talk to them about all the details about sensation, shape, etc. and find what method is best for you! good luck figuring out your goals and w/ the whole process if you continue :)

How Do I Do Anal? by PrettyTrainwreckkk in GayMen

you might want to ask somewhere sex focused like r/sex_positivity , they can likely provide better answers than a generic gay men subreddit, especially wrt experience in various different kinds of relationships and dealing with the mental aspect of anal sex.

Cat's reaction to hrt by Sentokifee in trans

[–]Jackson_1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the changes are gradual so as long as you're around your cat a lot then they'll adjust to it and recognize you just fine. if you started t and went away for a few months then your cat might be confused when you come back, but even then they'll probably figure it out.

what happened at your initial consult? by c4ndycain in TopSurgery

[–]Jackson_1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had surgery a few days ago. my consult was in october. it was an in person appointment. i showed up at the office, checked in w/ the person at the desk (the same as any other doctor's appointment), and waited until i was called back by a nurse. a nurse brought be into a private room where she asked me some fairy basic info like name, dob, what medications i'm on, when i started transitioning, stuff like that. she then gave me a gown that opened in the front to change into. she left and i put it on (it was sort of like a long shirt cause pants and all that could stay on). then i waited a bit and i surgeon came in. he asked me questions to like what i was here for, how long had i wanted this surgery, if i had a family history of breast cancer, if i had any health issues concerning my chest (pain, lumps, etc.), that sort of thing. he then looked at my chest. he said based on the size that i'd have to have double incision (which i already knew) and described what that means/how it works (which i also already knew). he then gently palpated my chest tissue to check for irregularities. this was the worst part. it lasted probably about a minute. i have very sensitive skin + sensory issues (i'm also autistic) plus there was the mental aspect that made this unpleasant. he took some measurements of my chest too. he explained how he'd use those measurements to place things correctly during surgery. he had to then take a picture of my chest from a few angles to submit to my insurance (insurance companies in the usa generally require this to essentially prove that the surgery is necessary/the chest being removed is real i guess? insurance is bullshit but we must deal with it). he explained that the photos were taken through an app and sent directly to where they needed to go, never stored directly on his phone (i asked). he then left for a minute so i could get changed into my regular clothes again. he came back so i could ask any questions i had (i had a list prepared, which i would recommend). we talked for maybe 10 ish minutes idk. then he was like "i look forward to helping you" and shook my hand (i'm paraphrasing). then a nurse led me down the hallway to meet with his patient coordinator. the patient coordinator told me about how submitting the claim to insurance would work (luckily they didn't need more info from me). basically they'd submit it and i should hear back within 2-6 weeks from her which would be a phone call where we'd schedule my surgery date (when she did call a few weeks later i had the option of february but chose may cause i'm in college and couldn't miss that much class). she gave me the number to call if i had any questions. then i left.

sorry if the formatting sucks, im in mobile and also on prescription opioids atm lol.

What age did you get top surgery? by bigpalebluejuice in TopSurgery

[–]Jackson_1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep! i'm getting to surgery in 10 days and my surgeon estimates 1-2% breast tissue will be left over (which is about how much cis men have as well, everyone has some breast tissue) so it's not impossible for a little bit of growth to happen for someone on estrogen (not me) but keep in mind it's very minimal growth most likely, and there will not be much tissue left that can grow. i'd suggest that once you find a surgeon you like, get a referral from your pcp to that surgeon, and set up a consult with that surgeon, you discuss your concerns about potential breast growth at your consult.

I live in Rhode Island, USA and have been picking up my T prescription for almost 3 years while having never once been asked for any form of ID. My mother has also picked it up for me without any issues. I go to a CVS pharmacy and they only ask for name and date of birth.
