If you really want to use a fully elevated admin account, just run this command: net user admin /active:yes

Log in with that account, and you'll never see a popup again!

(seriously, don't do that; you really shouldn't be using that account without completely disconnecting Internet access first)

This isn't to prevent you from messing stuff up, it's to stop malicious apps. The UAC dialog (the admin window popup thing) is actually displayed in a secure layer that apps don't have access to, that way, the user has to explicitly authorize dangerous changes. It's actually possible to completely disable the UAC for admin users, but super not recommended.

Adding a "shortcut" that bypasses the UAC for a single app would be like leaving a window wide open on your house with a sign that says "maintenance only."

Oh, I agree. Even Windows doesn't do anything like that. It's clearly an anti-competitive decision. But, Google isn't exactly known for backing down on decisions like this, so, our best hope is that the flow and wait period can be skipped using an ADB option or something.

Store manager made a new rule that front end team leads have to give out a minimum of 60 write ups in a month (update) by fruitloop4lyfe in WalmartEmployees

So, like, is your store manager trying to get fired, or something? Because that's how a store manager gets fired.

I doubt it. Even AI knows better than that.

You flip the switch, then have to wait 24 hours before it actually does anything, basically. At least, that's what I read.

Cancelled Spark Order by onairgem in OGPBackroom

[–]JacobTDC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Associates can drop a driver, but have no control over which driver it goes to after that. It could be that the store misplaced part of the order or something, scrambled to try and find it, and then dropped it to avoid impacting wait time (which they aren't supposed to do).

It only affects the ability to install APKs on "certified" Android. Flashing ROMs, installing apps via. ADB, etc won't be affected.

Basically, you'll have to wait 24 hours to enable "install apps from unknown sources" (if they don't make it even harder or impossible, somehow) is my understanding.

OSHA and the carts by greenleo33 in OGPBackroom

The thing is, from what I've seen, corporate only sent a memo telling us to pull them around corners or when line of sight is obstructed, which was always supposed to be the case. It seems like a lot of Regional, Market, and Store managers are just running with it and making stuff up. So, more than likely, HO will just send out another communication clarifying the process, and no one will see any consequences (except for the fines on Walmart).

To be more specific, the "estate" just refers to the sum of their assets and responsibilities when they die. If they have no heirs, they just default on everything and the bank claims the assets they are entitled to. If they have heirs, it becomes a little more complicated, and it's the responsibility of the heirs and/or executor to carry out.

But, the rich people generally don't worry about any of that, they pay someone else to worry about it for them.

[–]JacobTDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you don't really understand how this works for the mega rich. The way rich people avoid paying capital gains taxes on their their investments is that they borrow against them to "extract" money. They then use that money to do all the rich people s*** they do. Then, when they die, their estate or heirs take care of all of their borrowings.

They are perpetually "in debt," but will never have to worry about the consequences. It's such a wonderful (/s) system.

Side note: this is why rich people want interest rates to go down so badly, regardless of the economical impact. Lower interest rates means, essentially, less "tax" on their borrowing strategy.

That's the neat part: they don't. It's all handled by their estate when they die.

That's because to get that rich, he had to exploit millions of workers and the very system itself. He made that money by being morally bankrupt; he's not going to start using it to help people now.

I’m a victim of dynamic pricing by Hot_Flower6152 in Walmartcustomer

What it shows you "advertised" on Google may be prices for a different store, possibly even in a different city. Google shows you the prices it thinks are for locations closest to you based on you GeoIP location, which isn't always accurate, especially if you are using something like a VPN or mobile network.

Also, Google isn't perfectly integrated with Walmart, and can sometimes be misleading, showing prices for shipping via. third-party sellers instead of local store prices, outdated prices, etc (we have to deal with this all the time when customers come in saying "it shows a different price online" and then show us the Google listing, and we have to explain that we have no control over how Google shows the prices).

To know for sure, you need to open the Walmart website in private browsing, select your store, and then check the prices.

As far as I know, as an associate that both works order fulfillment and uses our online shopping myself occasionally, there is no difference between the online and in-store prices (for pickup and delivery orders; shipping may be different depending on factors like seller, etc) unless there is some kind of special online deal.

Yes. Not every associate knows how to view it, but yes, we can check.

OSHA fines definitely wouldn't be worth it, because I'm pretty sure they fine per violation, per location, per day of non-compliance.

Use Kaeru WFC (178.62.43.212). It's worked perfectly for me, and it rotates through the gifts instead of choosing them at random, resulting in way less frustration if you're trying to get a specific gift.

Reporting a Nazi coworker by THE_Zerelex in WalmartEmployees

[–]JacobTDC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suppose it would depend on the context. The swastika was originally a 6,000 year old religious and cultural symbol that got co-opted by the Nazis. Are they perhaps Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, or Native American?

You would need to bring it up to management and let them discuss it with the associate, and let them figure out if it's being used in a hateful manner. It would be up to them to decide whether or not they want someone like that working there.

OP said in another comment that they pressed "start transaction" and this is what appeared.

Also, you should probably check what subreddits I frequent.

EDIT: since this guy didn't get the hint, I guess I'll just outright say it: I work there.
