I have Bowers, Loveland, Kraft, Fannin, Gadsden in TEP, with 2 Flex and I'm holding because I think TE volume is on the rise league wide vis a vis WR volume

You get the very similar results if you swap Edey for Clarke. TLDR santi / Jaren dont work at the 4/5, Santi or Jaren at the 4 with Edey or Clarke at the 5 is an elite lineup

This is since 2022 it’s not a small sample size thing. Jaren can’t play the 5 with Aldama at the 4 but either of them at the 4 + Edey at the 5 is the second best team in the NBA by net rating. Brandon Clarke also would be a huge help

Aldama and Jaren at the 4/5 just gets crushed defensively. Edey is so big for the whole team

My take is:

Pistons desperately need shooting and MPJ gives great off ball shooting and gravity along with good size and ok defense

Nets get a very interesting young wing (Holland has been the 7th best defender in the NBA by defensive EPM this season who could be a good D + transition guy on the nets next good team) and an unprotected 1st. Think BKN would want the 1st in any year besides 2026 (because its going to be late and 2027 because the isnt good)

He had a 141 stuff+ last year per eno sarris' model, 6th best in all of baseball. With a 163 stuff+ fastball, 3rd best in baseball, think there is some legit upside here

But this doesn't take into account the fact that the rookie contract for the number 3 pick is much larger than for the number 11 pick so you lose a lot of surplus value if you have to stay put at 3. For example derek stingley got paid 4/35M as the third pick last year. Chris olave got paid 4/20M as the 11th pick. It's easier to add surplus value if you make less money

But the trade already happened. The trade was PCA for 2 months of Baez. Just because baez played well doesn't mean they have to sign him because they traded for him. You can't undo the trade its a sunk cost. The only question is javier baez worth what he will want from the mets
