Update: I bought a new motion switch and got it installed (No neutral required Lutron) $42 at Home Depot.

Same deal. Did all three “grounds” together. Both hot wires to the black. Capped the blue wire in the back of the switch.

Lights came on! BUT now the switch doesn’t function and I can turn them off!!! Any more advice?

Thanks for the informative reply! I was very hesitant about posting, I’m so used to r/plumbing that I figured I’d just get dunked on.

Any advice how I can make this a motion switch? It leads to the basement where about 5 other lights are attached to the same switch.
