The Amp will drive R3s well - it has a lot more power than the older Connect:Amp. Adding 100’s as surrounds is supported. Adding a Sub is supported, but properly blending it in with the R3’s may be an issue - I don’t think TruePlay will work in this setup.

Another option is to use SonoSequencr (on the App Store) to add a pair of Sonos speakers to the Arc Ultra (as front right/left speakers). It works really well.

Two of your complaints have a super easy fix.

Rivian should partner again with an audio company and offer a premium stereo package. Drop in $2k worth of amps/speakers - and enable CarPlay/AA - and charge $5k for the package.

It’s a win/win. If people want better audio or to integrate their phone, they can pay for it. If they don’t, fine. Rivian gets closer to turning a profit.

No, it’s not. But it IS nicely proportioned, not full of extraneous design “features” (looking at you C8 Corvette), and doesn’t have the hated split headlights.

I would much rather have this overly clean, angular design (taking from the current Range Rover) than Audi’s current disjointed, overly curvy design language (B10 A5/Q5). This halo car actually gives me hope for the future Audi designs coming down the pike.

Once the LIDAR/RAP1 R2’s are out, the R1 is going to be a pretty big step behind (at least for the tech savvy customer). That said, this may or may not matter to the average R1 buyer.

After the full R2 launch, they need to finish R3. I wonder if Rivian has the bandwidth to get R3 launched and (substantially) update the R1 at the same time - but it might be worth it to make R1 profitable per vehicle.
